She quickly prepared a plate of pasta, which Caden devoured eagerly.
Afterward, the evening took a more intimate turn. This time, Caden was gentle, taking his time.
Alicia experienced intense pleasure, more than once. Exhausted, she nestled into Caden’s arms and fell asleep swiftly.
The next morning, a noise woke her.
Opening her eyes, she saw Caden dressing, his back to her, standing tall and straight. It was an impressive sight.
Alicia watched him for a moment before instinctively rubbing her waist, expecting the usual soreness, but to her surprise, she felt much better today.
She murmured in confusion. They had been passionate for hours the night before, and she had succumbed to sleep from sheer exhaustion. Why wasn’t she fatigued?
As Caden buckled his belt and turned to see her clutching the blanket and staring at him, he asked, “What are you looking at?”
She replied, meeting his gaze, “Nothing. I just feel unexpectedly revitalized.”
She rose from the bed, standing tall and confident. Caden looked at her quizzically. “Revitalized for what exactly?”
“I feel invincible,” Alicia declared proudly, her energy palpable. “I’ve never recovered this quickly. No matter the intensity, I seem to wake up energized after a good night’s rest,” she boasted, laughing with delight.
She exuded the aura of a heroine ready to conquer the world.
Caden was momentarily speechless.
He then nodded towards the bedside table. “You’re overthinking it. You’re not tired simply because I applied some ointment on you last night.”

Alicia, taken aback, glanced at the bottle of ointment.
She picked it up and scrutinized it, noticing that one of the labels caught her eye.
The ingredients in the ointment were particularly rare, explaining its potent effect.
“When did you apply this?” Alicia inquired, genuinely puzzled.
“You were sound asleep,” Caden answered as he buttoned his shirt. “Come here, help me with my tie,” he requested.
Alicia had become quite proficient at tying ties.
For a brief moment, their interaction felt effortless and warm, almost as though they were a couple long accustomed to each other’s company.
Caden glanced at her and casually mentioned, “I need to choose an outfit for meeting a friend in a few days. Can you help with that?”
Alicia looked up, her dark eyes meeting his. “What style are you thinking of?”
“I’m catching up with an old friend. You decide,” he said.
“Okay,” she agreed.
Caden grinned. “You’re being very cooperative.”
Alicia felt an odd sensation at his remark. His eyes did not reflect true gratitude.
He continued, “Don’t wait up for me for dinner tonight. Arrange something for yourself.”
She asked instinctively, “Where will you be?”
Caden, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, teased, “Are you keeping tabs on me now?”
Alicia paused, feeling uneasy, then responded, “I’m not the one keeping tabs.”
Realizing she had started her day late, Alicia quickly tidied up before heading out.
Caden, relaxed as he prepared for his check-up, paused when he noticed several draft papers on a cabinet. He picked them up for a closer look.
They were sketches for a gallery.
“Is Alicia planning to open a gallery soon?” he wondered, tucking the papers into his notebook thoughtfully.
After his appointment, he received a call from Hank about an urgent company issue.
Caught up in the demands of work, Caden forgot to hand over a medical report to Ciara, stuffing it into a drawer instead.
Later, Alicia had lunch with Monica.
Since Monica had learned about Alicia and Caden’s relationship, she had been full of questions.
Alicia patiently answered each one.
“You respond like an AI, answering everything I ask,” Monica joked, amused by Alicia’s compliance.
This reminded Alicia of a task she still had to complete.
“I have to visit Caden’s company later. There’s a new product I’m working on that’s not quite finished,” she explained.
Monica narrowed her eyes playfully. “Really? Are you sure it’s not a date?”
Alicia shook her head. “It’s strictly professional. He rewarded me, and I see it as work.”
Given Caden’s generosity, Alicia felt compelled to reciprocate in some way.
Changing the subject, Monica teased, “How’s your sex life?”
Alicia blushed, focusing on her meal. “It’s alright.”
Monica grinned, teasing further. “He must be quite something, huh?”
