I am The Dominant Alpha - Chapter 114

Chapter 114:

Silas’s eyes narrowed, his expression filled with disdain.

“Then you have sealed your fate, Elara. Prepare your wolves, because I will be coming. And when I do, you will wish you had chosen differently.”

Without another word, he turned, signaling to his wolves to follow. They melted into the darkness, their forms disappearing into the shadows as the silence of the forest settled around us once more.

I let out a slow breath, the tension slowly easing from my body as I turned to face my pack. Their faces were a mix of defiance and determination, their loyalty clear in every gaze. Silas’s words had been meant to intimidate, to plant seeds of doubt, but all I saw in their eyes was a fierce resolve.

Dante moved to my side, his expression grim but filled with quiet pride.

“You handled that well. Silas wanted to shake you, to break our unity. But you didn’t give him the satisfaction.”

I nodded, feeling the weight of his words.

“He’s trying to make us doubt each other, to believe that our loyalty isn’t strong enough. But he doesn’t understand what binds us. He thinks fear is the only way to lead.”

“Which is exactly why he’ll fail,” Dante replied, his gaze meeting mine with steady conviction.

“He doesn’t understand what real loyalty means. But we do. And that’s our strength.”

I looked around at my pack, at the wolves who had chosen to stand with me, not out of fear or obligation, but because of the trust we had built together. Silas could not understand this bond, this unity, because he had never known it himself. And that would be his undoing.

As we made our way back to the compound, I felt a sense of clarity settle over me, a calm certainty that Talon Pack was prepared for whatever Silas brought. His threats, his attempts to sow doubt, would not break us. We had faced him head-on, unshaken, and now we were ready.

The days that followed were filled with intense preparation. Every wolf trained tirelessly, honing their skills, reinforcing defenses, and strengthening the bonds that held us together. We knew Silas would come soon, that he would bring his full force against us, and we would be ready.

And when that day came, when he finally stepped onto our territory, he would find a pack that was unbreakable, a force bound not by fear but by loyalty, by love for each other and for the land we called home.

Silas could threaten, he could taunt, but he would never understand the strength of Talon Pack. We were more than a collection of wolves. We were a family. And we would defend that family with everything we had.

Let Silas come. We would be waiting. And together, we would show him that Talon Pack was a force he could not destroy.

POV: Elara

The tension in the compound grew as the days passed, each moment heavy with the expectation of Silas’s impending attack. We had fortified our defenses, built our traps, and doubled our patrols, but despite all our preparations, a feeling of unease gnawed at me. Silas had made his intentions clear, yet his silence in the days following our confrontation felt ominous, as if he were waiting for something, calculating his next move.

Late one night, as the pack settled into a weary quiet, a faint rustle echoed from the perimeter of the compound. I stiffened, alert, catching the scent of something unfamiliar. I exchanged a glance with Dante, who was already on his feet, his gaze sharp. Without a word, we moved to the outer edge, where a few of our guards were stationed, each wolf equally tense and watchful.

As we approached the border, a scout rushed forward, his face pale and his breathing heavy.

“Alpha, Dante,” he whispered, his voice tight with fear.

“We… we found something. In the woods, just past the eastern border.”

“What did you see?” I asked, keeping my voice steady despite the unease curling in my chest.

The night I left Talon Pack still haunted me. It was a wound that had never fully healed, the scar of a choice I wasn’t sure had even been mine to make. Betrayal had a way of warping everything, turning what was once familiar into something alien and unrecognizable. Leaving had felt like both the ultimate act of selfishness and a necessary sacrifice to protect the pack I had once called family. Even now, I couldn’t decide if it was ambition or loyalty that had driven me away. For weeks, I’d battled the tension within the pack—the constant push and pull between my vision for its future and the council’s devotion to tradition. The elders saw my instincts, my drive to lead, as dangerous. I told myself I wanted to protect Talon Pack, to guide it toward a better future, but there were moments—quiet, biting moments—when I wondered if it was my pride whispering those promises, not my heart.
