Carola nodded. “Alright, we’ll leave now. Be safe on your way back.”

Too embarrassed to speak further, Kylee lowered her head and quickly escorted Carola to the car.
Once they were inside the car, Kylee cautiously looked at Carola’s expression before asking, “Mom, was it Belinda who invited you to dinner tonight?”
