Chapter 1895:
Belinda’s gaze accidentally locked with Carola’s.
At that moment, she couldn’t quite name the emotions stirring in her chest.
When she noticed the redness in Carola’s eyes and the heavy dark circles beneath them, she felt a pang of sympathy.
“Mr. Happer, what brings you here?” Lucas broke the silence first.
“We came here because of something important.”
Galen drew in a long breath before continuing. “We had Carola’s and Kylee’s blood samples sent for a DNA test. The results showed that Kylee has no biological connection to Carola whatsoever. She isn’t her daughter. Later, we suspected that the babies must have been switched back then, and that’s when Baker came to mind.”
At this, he turned his gaze to Belinda and said, “Belinda, do you remember the day I asked you to meet me at the café? When you were about to leave, Lyle reached over and helped you remove something from your hair. In truth, he took a few strands of your hair at that time. Afterwards, he sent them for a DNA test along with Carola’s. The results just came back.”
With those words, Galen took out a document bag and handed it to Belinda.
After a moment of hesitation, Belinda slowly reached out and accepted it.
Deep down, she had already known what the results would reveal. Yet when her eyes landed on the final page of the report, her vision still blurred with tears.
It was true.
Carola was her biological mother.
Belinda’s hand trembled slightly as she clutched the report. She lifted her gaze and looked at Carola once more. The instant their eyes met, Carola’s eyes reddened.
She could no longer restrain herself. She rushed forward and wrapped Belinda in her arms. “My daughter… I’m so sorry.”
Carola was already sobbing uncontrollably.

Held in her arms, Belinda felt overwhelmed.
The warmth of the embrace, the faint fragrance clinging to Carola, stirred a sense of familiarity in her heart, mingled with a quiet unease.
Never—not once in her life—had she been this close to Carola. The woman holding her now was her mother by blood.
Belinda slowly lifted her arms and finally hugged Carola back.
She said nothing, only gently stroked Carola’s back with steady, soothing motions, as if trying to comfort her.
Saniya’s eyes glistened with tears as she watched the scene.
Lucas’s expression softened with relief.
Belinda had finally found her real mother, and Lucas believed that her mother and her family would give her nothing but love—more love than she had ever known.
Carola held Belinda for a long time, until Galen stepped forward and gently patted her shoulder. “Alright, alright, let’s sit down first and talk.”
Only then did Carola release Belinda, still holding her hand as she sat down beside her. Tears continued to slide down her cheeks.
Belinda pressed her lips together, picked up a few tissues from the coffee table, and handed them to Carola. “Carola, please don’t cry.”
