Chapter 1886:
Holley said, “Are you really going to kill me or something?”
“Kill you?” Belinda’s lips twisted into a cold smile. “Don’t trouble yourself with such fears. We live in a world bound by law. Naturally, I cannot simply take your life.”
She paused, allowing the weight of her words to settle heavily between them. “So, I will only send you to the police. Ms. Lewis, it appears you will be spending whatever remains of your life locked away behind prison walls. I cannot predict the exact number of years they’ll sentence you to serve, but I guarantee that your time in that concrete cage will be absolutely ‘eventful.’”
Each syllable that fell from Belinda’s lips drained the strength from Holley’s trembling legs, bit by agonizing bit, until gravity finally won and she collapsed onto the cold floor.
She couldn’t go to prison. She refused to accept this fate. She couldn’t allow such a nightmare to become reality.
Now that the devastating truth about the child exchange had been dragged into the merciless light, neither Belinda nor Carola would show her the slightest mercy.
They would make sure she suffered in prison.
Once she was behind bars, who could predict what kind of torment awaited her? If that happened, no one would ever save her.
The terrifying realization struck Holley like lightning. She clawed her way up from the floor and stumbled toward the sofa with desperate urgency. Then she knelt before Kenia’s feet and seized her legs with both hands. “Mom, I’m begging you to save me. I don’t want to go to prison.”
Her voice cracked with raw despair as the words poured from her soul.
Tears carved rivers down Kenia’s weathered cheeks, but she said nothing, refusing to grant Holley even the briefest glance.
Seeing this, Holley understood with crushing clarity that Kenia wouldn’t help her.
Rage and hopelessness surged through her chest.
She released her grip on Kenia and whirled toward Belinda, desperation tightening her voice. “Belinda, I acknowledge my terrible mistakes now. Please, find it in your heart to forgive me. I swear I’ll never do anything like that again.”

She reached deeper into her arsenal of pleas. “Please, remember those moments when I tried to show you maternal care; let those memories move you to”
mercy…” Holley’s pathetic pleading only summoned a cruel, mocking smile from Belinda.
Indeed, when compared to those who had brutalized their children with fists, screamed curses at them, and subjected them to unspeakable abuse, Holley had not treated Belinda poorly. Yet even acknowledging this distinction, Belinda believed that what Holley had done far exceeded the boundaries of forgiveness. Moreover, just thirty minutes earlier, Holley had attempted to drug her, plotting to destroy her completely. Belinda could not forgive her.
Belinda fixed her piercing gaze on Holley with icy determination. “Ms. Lewis, you should fall to your knees in gratitude for whatever scraps of kindness you managed to show me during my childhood. Without those fleeting moments of decency, prison would be the most merciful fate you could possibly hope for.”
She had grown weary of wasting precious breath on Holley. She ordered, “Take her away.”
A bodyguard dressed in black stepped forward, effortlessly subdued the struggling Holley, and began dragging her toward the door.
