Chapter 1866:
Belinda said, “Lucas has arranged for someone to gather blood samples from Holley and Baker for a fresh DNA test.”
“Belinda, I…” Kenia tried to speak, but her words faltered. She realized she didn’t even know what to say.
“Grandma,” Belinda said, gently taking her hand.
“No matter the outcome, whether I’m Holley’s daughter or not, you’ll always be my beloved grandmother. That’s never going to change in my heart. I’ll stay by your side, caring for you.”
Every word Belinda spoke poured from her heart, raw and sincere.
She wouldn’t blame Kenia for what Holley had done.
Kenia’s eyes brimmed with tears as Belinda’s words settled.
The pain in her chest tightened, leaving her speechless. Belinda sensed the storm of emotions churning within her grandmother.
So, she stayed silent, sitting quietly by her side.
It was a long while before Kenia moved.
Turning to Belinda, she clasped her hand tightly, her eyes pleading.
“Belinda, I have only one request. If you and Lucas are right, and you’re someone else’s child, and Holley and Baker switched you with their child… please, could you and Lucas spare Holley’s life? As long as she lives, that’s enough for me…”
Kenia knew well that if Holley and Baker’s deception was confirmed, Lucas would not let them off.
With Lucas’s ruthless nature, she couldn’t fathom what fate awaited Holley, so she could only beg Belinda to spare Holley’s life.
As for anything else, she lacked the courage to ask.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Belinda nodded.
“Alright, Grandma. I promise.”
Even if Holley and Baker were guilty of the swap, Belinda had never considered ending their lives.
She wouldn’t have done that, even without Kenia’s plea.

“Good. That’s a comfort,” Kenia said, her face visibly easing.
Just then, a sudden thought struck Belinda, her eyes flickering.
“Grandma, could you keep this to yourself for now?”
“Of course,” Kenia replied, needing no further explanation.
That night, Belinda noticed Kenia’s struggle to sleep.
Though Kenia lay still, her uneven breathing betrayed that she was still awake.
Belinda felt powerless to ease her grandmother’s turmoil.
She knew this news had shattered her peace.
Belinda herself barely slept that night.
Thankfully, the next day was her day off, so she didn’t need to rise early.
When she finally woke up, it was nearly noon.
She got out of bed, freshened up, and headed downstairs just in time for lunch.
After eating, as she started back to her room, her phone rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, her eyes sharpened slightly. The screen flashed Galen’s name.
