Chapter 1864:
“Okay.” Belinda gave a small nod.
“After all, we can’t be completely certain yet that Carola and Elwood are my real parents.”
Lucas just smiled faintly at that and said nothing more.
Just then, a sudden knock at the door broke the quiet.
Lucas rose and went to answer it.
Margie stood in the doorway.
“Mr. Clark, I need to speak with Belinda,” she said.
Lucas stepped aside.
“Come in.”
Belinda pushed herself up from the sofa, her eyes on Margie.
“What’s the matter, Margie?”
“Belinda,” Margie began, “if you can, go check on Kenia. She has been in low spirits the past couple of days, like something’s weighing on her mind. I’m not sure if she has run into trouble or something.”
A flicker of understanding crossed Belinda’s gaze.
She believed she knew what might be troubling Kenia. Perhaps that question she’d asked her before had planted a seed of doubt.
“Alright,” Belinda said.
“I’ll head over now. Thanks, Margie.”
“No need to thank me; I am just concerned about her,” Margie replied before taking her leave.
Turning back to Lucas, Belinda said, “I won’t be coming back tonight. I’ll stay with my grandma.”
“Alright.” Lucas didn’t say anything more, simply nodding in agreement. Belinda took a quick shower before making her way to Kenia’s room.
When she stepped inside, she found her grandmother still awake.
“Belinda, what brings you here?” Kenia asked.

With a playful smile, Belinda crossed the room, sat beside her, and slipped an arm through hers.
“Grandma, can I sleep in your room tonight?”
Kenia chuckled.
“In my room? Won’t Lucas get jealous?”
Belinda laughed softly.
“Jealous? Not at all! Why would he be jealous just because I’m staying with you?”
After a short pause, she asked again, “So… is that okay, Grandma?”
“Of course.” Kenia nodded warmly.
Belinda said directly, “Grandma, Margie said you’ve seemed worried these past couple of days. What’s going on? Can you tell me?”
She could only guess it might have something to do with the question she’d asked before, though she couldn’t be sure. Kenia’s expression tightened ever so slightly at her words. She hesitated, her brows drawing together as though weighing whether to speak.
After a few seconds, she looked at Belinda and said, “Belinda, why did you suddenly ask whether you had a birthmark when you were young that day? Are you suspecting something? Or… have you already learned something?”
