Chapter 1792:
The following day brought an overwhelming tide of responsibilities for Belinda. Emergency patients flooded in one after another, leaving her with barely a moment to pause between her exhausting rounds until the clock struck two in the afternoon. She had just finished tending to a particularly challenging patient and hadn’t even managed to catch her breath when her phone pierced the silence with its ring.
Margie’s name flashed across the screen. Belinda swiped to accept the call, her voice slightly breathless. “Hello?”
Margie’s voice crackled through the receiver, tinged with barely controlled panic. “Belinda, you need to rush to operating room 4 in the hospital immediately. Something happened with Kenia and me today!”
The moment the words “operating room” reached her ears, Belinda’s face drained of all color. Her heart hammered against her ribs as she asked urgently, “What on earth has happened? Are you and my grandmother injured?”
Margie’s words tumbled out in a rush, attempting to provide reassurance. “No, no, we’re perfectly fine. You don’t need to panic about us. Someone else is injured.”
“I’m going there this instant!” Belinda refused to waste another precious second on additional questions. She ended the call with trembling fingers and marched with purpose toward the director’s office. After offering a respectful knock and stepping across the threshold, she presented the urgent situation to Turner, formally requesting immediate emergency leave.
Witnessing her ashen complexion and the anxiety that radiated from her every movement, Turner didn’t dare create obstacles and immediately approved her request.
Once she left Turner’s office, Belinda raced through the corridors toward the operating room. Upon reaching the door and spotting Kenia sitting motionless on the bench in the corridor, her hands and clothing marred with crimson stains, Belinda was shocked, her face growing pale.
“Grandma!” She sprinted over without hesitation, crouching before Kenia and looking at her with worried eyes. “What has happened? Why is there so much blood on you? Where exactly have you been wounded?”

At that moment, she had completely forgotten about Margie’s earlier assurance that they had remained unharmed.
“I’m perfectly fine. No need to worry about me.” Seeing Belinda’s terror-stricken expression, Kenia immediately shifted into comfort mode, capturing her hands with gentle firmness and helping her rise to her feet.
“Belinda, please don’t let panic overwhelm you. Your grandmother is unharmed. The blood staining her clothes belongs to someone else,” Margie said.
“What exactly has happened?” After settling herself on the bench and drawing in a steadying breath, Belinda fixed her gaze on both Kenia and Margie.
“Here’s precisely what unfolded this afternoon…” Margie began, thoughts traveling back to the incident.
The weather had been remarkably pleasant, blessed with gentle rays of sunshine filtering through the clouds. After enjoying lunch and taking some rest, Margie had decided to escort Kenia on a refreshing stroll.
