At Kylee’s words, Baker’s eyes widened in shock. But within seconds, the pieces began to fall into place. A flicker of realization crossed his face, followed by a slow, thoughtful nod.

Kylee said, “Also, I had a meal with Zaria yesterday, and she told me that her father has begun looking into his past with Carola. Since he has started an investigation, he won’t just look into his past with Carola alone. He will definitely dig into how Carola ended up marrying you.”
As she spoke, a spark ignited in her eyes, her excitement mounting. “This could be the perfect opportunity for us.”
After hearing Kylee’s words, Baker quickly understood her intention. He squinted at her, voice low. “You’re suggesting…”
The corners of Kylee’s lips curved ever so slightly. From his expression alone, she could tell he understood exactly what she meant. So she gave a firm nod. “Yes!”
Baker drew in a slow breath, his expression hardening with resolve. “You’re right,” he said in a serious tone. “This is a rare opportunity. Don’t worry; I’ll handle it. Leave everything to me.”
Kylee hesitated, then reached out and clasped his hand, her grip tight with urgency. “Dad, everything hinges on you now. You have to be extremely careful.”
“I understand,” Baker replied.
After a while, he gazed deeply at Kylee, a slight frown creasing his brow, his eyes carrying a trace of resignation. “Kylee…” he began.

“Hasn’t it been a while since you last spent time with your mother?” Baker asked.

Baker continued, concern in his voice, “Your mom’s been feeling down lately. After everything that happened, your grandmother still won’t speak to her, and you know how much your mom cherishes her. So your mom has truly been having a hard time recently. If you can, try to carve out some time to visit her and maybe lift her spirits. Seeing you would do wonders for her mood.”
Kylee pressed her lips together, then gave a small nod. “Alright, I’ll make time to visit her.”
“Good,” Baker replied, his face softening with a relieved smile.
Since Belinda had made a promise to Jazmine, after finishing work that evening, she informed Lucas of what she needed to do and headed to Rowell and Jazmine’s home.
