Chapter 90:.
Charlotte came to and saw Diana nervously explaining to her, she forced a smile.
“I’m not blaming you, I was just thinking about things.”
“What’s wrong?” Diana looked at her worriedly and reached out to take her hand, “Are you worried you won’t be able to find him? Charlotte, don’t worry, I’ll find that man for you, I’m sure!”.
Seeing that he kept assuring her, Charlotte couldn’t help but laugh out loud, “Diana, why are you so silly? This is my doing, but you’re still working hard for me.”
“Because we’re good friends, but……” Diana thought of something and added after a pause, “We’ll always be good friends, won’t we?”
Charlotte nodded, “Of course.”
“If one day I do something bad to you, will you forgive me?”
What? Charlotte didn’t understand, “Something bad to me?”
“You know I’m not a careful person, maybe I make a mistake accidentally, you must forgive me.”
Charlotte, “You are always careless, but I have never blamed you. Besides, you have helped me a lot. I should thank you.”
“We’ll talk about this later, do you want some cake?”
Charlotte, “No!”
After finishing the cake, they left together. Diana, naturally, offered to send
Charlotte home. When she got to the door, she winked at her, “Charlotte, can I walk you out?”
Hearing that, Charlotte thought about it, but shook her head, “No, it’s already late. It’s dangerous for you to drive back at night, so come back now.” Diana showed a look of disappointment.
“Okay then, see you tomorrow.”
After Diana left, Charlotte walked briskly back to the house. As she was about to go upstairs, the maid approached and stopped her.
“Miss Moore, Mr. Reynold wants to see you.”
Hearing Mr. Reynold, Charlotte’s delicate body shuddered unconsciously, “I know, I’ll be right there.”
When she arrived at the study, she thought Reynold was going to lecture her again, or that there was something to do, but she walked in and saw him looking at her with a smile on his face.
“Mr. Reynold?”
“Christina, you’re here.” Reynold got up and walked over to the table next to the coffee table and sat down, then pointed to the one on the other side, “Come and sit down.” This sudden change overwhelmed Charlotte, but she obediently walked over and sat down across from him, “Mr. Reynold, what would you like?”
“Christina, you are married to Kennedy, why do you keep calling me ‘Mr. Reynold’?” Charlotte was stunned, she had called him Mr. Reynold as usual.
“You should call me Grandpa.”
Charlotte was stunned. Her eyes widened unconsciously, what the hell was going on, why had his attitude towards her changed so drastically?
“Mr. Reynold, I ……”
“You just moved into the Moore Family, if there’s anything you’re not used to, you can let me know. Or if there’s something you need, I can help you.” Speaking of which, Reynold suddenly pulled out a bank card and handed it to Charlotte, “I know the Wilson Family situation, you’ve had it tough too. This is the money for you.”
No! This was so wrong!
Charlotte stood up abruptly and straightened her back, “Grandpa, I can’t accept this money. I’m working as Kennedy’s assistant and I’m getting paid.”
“I know, but there are some. As the second youngest wife in the Moore Family, you can’t let people on the outside underestimate you.”
Charlotte pinched the corner of her coat, her face pale.
“Grandfather, is there something you want to tell me?”
Reynold stood up, stroked his beard on his chin and looked down at her with a smile.
“You’re a smart girl.”
Charlotte’s heart stuttered.
“Here’s the thing. It’s about the daughter of the Nelson Family.”
Charlotte bit her lower lip and didn’t speak.
“She’s a nice girl. Christina, do you know her well?”
Christina, now it was Christina…… Charlotte looked down and said nervously,
“Sort of.”
“How do you know each other?”
Charlotte’s hand trembled and she almost took a step back, but before she could move,
Reynold said, “Kennedy has married you and I don’t have to worry about him, but Manfred hasn’t found a suitable girl. I think the Nelson Family girl is good.”
Hearing this, Charlotte finally understood that Reynold wanted to introduce Diana to Manfred.
But would Diana like Manfred, or would Manfred like Diana? Charlotte unconsciously felt that he would not. She had known Diana for a long time, and Diana had never liked Manfred’s type.
When they were students, Diana liked those who were overbearing, and she never liked the top students, no matter how good-looking they were, but ran after the school bullies, even if she failed.
But Charlotte knew that Manfred was not to Diana’s liking.
“Grandpa, probably not.”
“What?” Manfred’s eyes suddenly turned stern, so Charlotte took a small step back and explained in a whisper, “Diana has a boyfriend!” There was no choice but to say this.
“She has a boyfriend?” Manfred froze for a moment and then said, “What does it matter?
A boyfriend is not a husband. As long as they’re not married, there’s a chance.
“Ask his opinion first.”
Charlotte bit her lower lip, “Okay, I’ll go ask.”
“Take the money.”
Charlotte didn’t dare take it, but Reynold’s look was like electricity, as if he wouldn’t budge if she didn’t take it. She had no choice but to take it and leave the study.
She went upstairs worried.
There was also a reason she didn’t want Diana to be with Manfred.
The situation in the Moore Family was too complicated.
Manfred, Kennedy and Reynold disagreed. There was a secret struggle. If Diana married into the family, it was like pushing her into the fire.
She and Diana were good friends. She was already in the fire pit, I couldn’t drag her in!
