Chapter 84:
Did he speak for Kennedy?
No, how could Manfred speak for Kennedy? Normally Kennedy’s attitude wasn’t bad towards him, but it definitely wasn’t good.
“You and Kennedy didn’t know each other before, you need a lot of time to understand each other.”
Charlotte shook her head, “I’m not crying for him, you don’t need to speak for him.”
Hearing this, Manfred was slightly taken aback and smiled, “Good, I thought you two were at odds again.”
Charlotte said nothing, sipping soup.
She turned her head and her hair scattered. She seemed very well mannered. Manfred reached up and unconsciously wanted to stroke her head, but as he was about to touch her, his hand stopped.
He looked at Charlotte, then looked at her palm and finally withdrew it.
At that moment, Manfred’s phone suddenly rang, he pulled out the phone, “I’m going out to take a call.”
“Mm.”
After Manfred went out, Charlotte felt much more comfortable.
Although Manfred treated her very well, after all, they were not acquaintances, so Charlotte did not feel at ease.
Now that he was out, she turned away and ate in silence.
After a minute, Manfred came in, “Charlotte, the company has some urgent business and I have to go back first. The maids will clean up when you are finished. Later I will send a chauffeur to send you back to the Moore Family.”
Hearing that the company had urgent business, she said, “I didn’t ask the company’s permission, I ……”
“If you are this sick, Kennedy will not accept it in his heart. Rest.” When Manfred left, Charlotte realized something was wrong.
She was now Kennedy’s wife, how could she stay in Manfred’s house?
If Kennedy found out, he would be angry.
She had to avoid suspicion, otherwise people would gossip about Manfred.
So he finished his meal as quickly as possible.
When she got up, the maid came in.
“Miss Wilson, have you finished eating?”
Charlotte blushed slightly, “Yes, thank you for your hospitality, but I have an urgent matter today, I have to get back first.”
“Miss Wilson, don’t worry, the chauffeur is on his way to pick you up.”
Hearing that, Charlotte gasped, “Chauffeur?”.
“Yes, Mr. Manfred’s special driver. He’ll take you back after he’s sent Lord Manfred to the company.”
Charlotte paused, “No, it’s too much trouble, I can get back on my own, where’s the bus stop near here?”
The maid looked embarrassed, “Miss Wilson, don’t you need a car?”.
Charlotte shook her head, “No, it’s convenient for me to take the bus on my own, please tell me where the station is.”
Finally, the maid had to send her personally to the bus stop, “This is it, Mrs. Wilson.” “Thank you.” Charlotte smiled at her.
The maid was flattered and shook her head, “Miss Wilson, you’re welcome. This is the first time Mr. Manfred has brought a girl home, you may as well take advantage of the opportunity.” After saying that, without waiting for Charlotte’s reaction, the maid left.
Charlotte froze in place, still thinking about the maid’s words.
She looked embarrassed.
The maid seemed to be misunderstanding her relationship with Manfred.
Everyone did not expect that there would be a sudden emergency meeting of the company, and that Kennedy would openly criticize the vice president at the meeting. The shareholders were dumbfounded, not knowing what had happened.
Manfred at first was also puzzled, and then Kennedy always said harsh words toward him. Kennedy’s eyes were sharp as a knife, as if he had stolen Kennedy’s beloved baby. Manfred suddenly remembered the woman who had food in his private villa, and slightly hooked the corners of his lips.
As soon as the meeting was over, Manfred approached.
“Kennedy, why are you angry?”
Kennedy sneered, “You have no awareness that the contract was a big mistake.”
Kenney always had his reasons. And it was true that there was a mistake in the contract.
“It’s my fault, I’m sorry.”
“Nevertheless, you’re angry.”
Kennedy’s look was like a thorn, “You think others aren’t qualified to be angry about what you’ve done wrong?”
“That’s not true, I’m just guessing at the cause of your anger.” Manfred smiled slightly and took two steps forward, “When I went to the hospital this morning, I ran into Charlotte.”
Hearing that, the veins in Kennedy’s forehead popped.
Did Manfred really dare mention that in front of him? What did he have in mind?
“Charlotte passed out, so I took her back.”
As the words just tumbled out, Manfred felt the coolness of Kennedy’s body spread uncontrollably, in a mad rush of expansion.
Nathan realized that Kennedy’s temper was not under control and was quick to say, “Mr. Manfred, you have gone too far. Since Miss Moore fainted, why didn’t you take her not to the hospital but to your home?” He was still speaking politely.
Manfred smiled faintly, “She ran away from the hospital, I thought there must be someone in the hospital she didn’t want to see, or something she wanted to escape from, or she didn’t like the hospital. If he was still taking her back, wasn’t he hurting her? Nathan, you have to think twice before you do things.”
“So, have you considered that she’s my wife?”
“You mean I should get the unconscious Charlotte out of my head?”
“What are you saying?” Nathan snapped angrily, “If she was sick, she had to go to the hospital, can she not go to the hospital if she doesn’t want to?”
“And why did you call Mr. Kennedy after you knew Miss Moore had fainted?”
“They are really angry today. Kennedy, I just felt that your legs would pose a problem for you, so I didn’t call you. You don’t blame me, do you?”
Kennedy scoffed, “What do you think?”
“I came to tell you that you can pick her up at work.”
“She can stay wherever she wants. Is that kind of woman worth picking up?”
Kennedy sneered again.
Manfred frowned slightly, this brother of his doesn’t reveal what he truly thinks.
“The reason I don’t want you to go near her is because she’s a woman who loves vanity and has the title of Miss Moore. I didn’t say I care about her and want to go after her.”
“Kennedy?”
“If you like her, you can go and tell Grandpa you love her.”
“……”
Charlotte arrived at the company and asked where they were. When she got to the conference room door, she heard this phrase.
Standing in the doorway, she saw Kennedy inside.
The expression on his face was cold, and so were his eyes. Those words, like sharp thorns, pierced deep into his heart.
