Chapter 68:
Her voice was deliberately low to keep Diana from hearing it.
Kennedy’s thin lips curved, and she said, “Afraid?” Charlotte looked at Diana in front of her.
Today she was wearing a red skirt, the shape of which outlined her figure nicely. Diana’s figure had always been very good, had Kennedy become infatuated with her?
Thinking about this, Charlotte clenched her fist and bit her lip, “You know she’s my friend, why did you agree to go to breakfast with us? What exactly is your intention?”
“You don’t seem to have a clear picture of the situation.” Kennedy scoffed, his tone laden with derision. “It’s your friend who invited me, even if it’s with bad intentions, it’s your friend who has bad intentions with me.”
Charlotte: “……”.
What a reasonable statement and one that she could not refute!
No! Diana was not such a person!
“Don’t talk nonsense. Diana is only polite to invite you, and I didn’t expect you to accept.” In any case, Charlotte was determined not to believe that Diana was plotting against Kennedy.
In fact, leaving aside the matter of his disability, Kennedy was indeed a very good man, but after all, he was her husband, so it was impossible for Diana to have any thoughts about him.
She believed in Diana’s character!
“Heh, naive.” Kennedy found this woman to be stupid and didn’t bother to argue with her any further.
Even though Charlotte was furious, she still had to push Kennedy into the elevator and reluctantly pressed the close button.
As the elevator door was about to close, a hand reached in the middle of the door, causing it to open again.
Charlotte raised her head and unexpectedly saw a familiar figure.
Manfred’s smile was modest and courteous, and his warm gaze swept over her,
Kennedy and Diana, “Coincidentally, I ran into you so early.”
“Manfred?” when Diana saw Manfred, she hurriedly turned to the side, “Come in.”
“Thank you.”
Manfred smiled weakly at her, then came in and stood next to Kennedy, “Charlotte, Kennedy, why are you so early today?”
As Charlotte wanted to explain, Diana said, “We’re about to leave for breakfast, would you like to join us?”
“That’s a good idea.” Manfred smiled and nodded softly, “Since Miss Nelson invited me, I’m sure I’ll come with you.”
Charlotte was sweating, but at the same time she was relieved.
If Manfred was also accompanying her, she should Kennedy……
“Charlotte, you don’t look well, take care of your health.” Manfred said.
Charlotte’s face changed slightly, she nodded sweetly at Manfred’s gentle gaze and then lowered her eyes.
The older Kennedy brother seemed to be very concerned about her. Even if they were only polite words, but it made Charlotte confused.
Because Kennedy was misunderstanding her.
“Kennedy, how’s your leg lately, has the old injury come back?” After attending to Charlotte, Manfred began asking about Kennedy’s injury.
Kennedy pursed her lips, and the breath in her body was cold and icy.
“No.”
Compared to the gentle Manfred, Kennedy was really cold, Charlotte thought.
Diana thought Manfred was a gentle man. His girlfriend should be happy because he would take care of everything.
But Diana couldn’t help looking at Kennedy.
It always seemed to her that a man like that left people wanting to conquer, because his breath was cold.
This kind of man was cold when he didn’t love you.
But as soon as he fell in love with you, he became passionate as fire.
The sharpness of Diana’s eyes was even more resolute as she thought of him.
The four people had different thoughts, and soon they stepped out of the elevator. Diana went to drive, intending to let Kennedy sit in her car, but she ignored that Kennedy was sitting in a wheelchair.
The wheelchair was too uncomfortable to get into her car. Fortunately at that moment Nathan arrived, so Kennedy returned to his car and let Charlotte push him.
After the two left, Diana looked at the back of Kennedy and was disappointed.
“Miss Nelson, can you sit in my car?”
Diana came to, looked at Manfred’s warm smile beside her, hooked her lips and shook her head, “No. I have my own car, we’re both driving, and it’s convenient to get to work later.” Manfred nodded.
Charlotte pushed Kennedy into the car, then looked for a seat for herself, then watched as Diana and Manfred drove away.
“Do you want to take Manfred’s car?” asked Kennedy suddenly in a cold voice.
Hearing this, Charlotte snapped back to reality and gave him a puzzled look.
Kennedy raised his eyes and looked at her with derision.
“Did I guess wrong? The person making eyes at her in the elevator wasn’t you?”
When did she make eyes at Manfred? Charlotte snapped, “Don’t accuse people of wrongdoing!”.
“You’re smart to make Manfred care about you.”
Charlotte: ……
She gritted her teeth, her hands tensed silently and the joints in her fingers paled slightly.
“Just one question, do you have to misunderstand me?” Charlotte bit her lower lip, and fearlessly met Kennedy’s cold eyes.
Kennedy dropped her eyes to his face. As she was about to say something, Charlotte lost her fist and turned her head away.
“You can say whatever you want.”
She didn’t want to make a defense, anyway, Kennedy’s opinion of her wouldn’t change.
She looked out the window and watched the scenes constantly passing by.
The fact that she was marrying into the Moore Family was perhaps a sadness.
At the thought of her mother being treated like that that night, Charlotte’s breath was instantly taken away, filling the entire carriage.
Manfred felt it. He looked at Charlotte with a complex expression. She had only said a few words, had he really misunderstood her?
But why was he worried about her?
If she did nothing, or gave any hint, would Manfred be like this?
Why was he acting like this?
A woman who could even squeeze her own sister to marry into the Moore Family, how good would she be?
