Chapter 64:
Charlotte thought she’d misheard – how could she say the word ‘welcome’?
But she really said it, and she said it to Diana. For a moment, Charlotte felt annoyed, but happy that Diana was welcome.
“Nathan, go to the study.”
Nathan replied, “Then entertain yourselves, I still have some work to finish with Mr. Kennedy.”
“Okay.” Diana flashed a sweet smile greeting Kennedy and Nathan. after they left, Diana looked at Kennedy’s back, “I actually think Kennedy is not as scary and cold as I thought, what do you think?”
Charlotte also looked at that tall back and froze, “Maybe.”
“Charlotte, you are so lucky!”
“Lucky?”
“Yes, you’re lucky to marry a man of such quality as Kennedy.”
Lucky? Charlotte tugged at the corner of her mouth, and her smile was a little bitter.
She didn’t know if marrying Kennedy was a blessing or a curse.
“But sooner or later they’ll have to divorce, it’s hopeless.”
When lunchtime came, they were all eating at the same table. Reynold’s face was blue, but it got better when he heard there was a guest.
“Hello, Mr. Reynold, this is Diana from the Nelson Group.”
“Nelson Group?” Lord Reynold narrowed his eyes slightly, “Your brother is Zain Nelson?”
Diana was a little surprised, “Mr. Reynold, do you know my brother?”
Reynold’s look had more of a complimentary edge to it, “I have met him before. He is a very promising young man.”
“Thank you, Mr. Reynold.”
“Kennedy, you can learn more from others.” Reynold suddenly spoke up at this point and said to Kennedy.
The people in front of the dining room table gave a bang, and all their eyes looked toward Kennedy.
Kennedy said with a smile, “Is there any group bigger than the Moore Family in B-town?”
These words choked Reynold.
Reynold snorted coldly, “You think it’s because of you?”
Kennedy said, “Five years ago I didn’t control the Moore Group, and it was one of the top five groups. Since I took over it’s developed a lot. Grandpa, how can you not think it’s because of my intervention?”
He seemed to be right. And his deep voice was convinced. Charlotte was secretly surprised, it seemed that Kennedy’s ability was not really to be coveted.
But why didn’t Reynold like her?
Charlotte was suddenly curious on this point.
Diana said, “Impressive, Mr. Kennedy is right. My brother should learn from Mr. Kennedy.”
Although the Nelson Family was known as one of the top three families, there was still the Moore Family above it.
Because the Moore Group didn’t care about being with the other families, they wanted to get to the top.
“You’re too humble. Your brother is a genius. We can cooperate if there’s an opportunity.”
Reynold and Diana were chatting happily. Charlotte watched them with secret envy, thinking Diana was good at socializing, unlike her…… was true that between people there was a difference.
Reynold always spoke to her with a sullen face.
And she didn’t know what to say to make Reynold happy.
So she put her head down and ate quietly.
Suddenly, a piece of chicken wing was placed in her bowl, and Charlotte raised her head to meet Manfred’s kind smile.
“Charlotte, eating only rice is not nutritious.”
This exchange caused the diners to be slightly taken aback. They probably didn’t expect Manfred to help her with the meal. So Charlotte was embarrassed for a moment and nodded curtly, “Thank you.”
Diana saw this and looked at Charlotte with a twinkle in her eye, “Manfred is very good to you!”.
Charlotte bit her lower lip nervously. He was good, but…
Sitting not far to her left, Kennedy laughed softly, and only she could hear him, so she looked up at him, met his deep-set eyes, and couldn’t make out the emotions.
Damn, she must have misunderstood again.
“Everyone, let’s eat quickly.” Manfred saw everyone stop eating, so he said it, and the atmosphere relaxed.
The mood of this meal was not very good, especially Charlotte sitting next to Kennedy. She felt like she was in Antarctica, surrounded by Kennedy who had been in the outer release of the cold atmosphere.
“Come on, you’re too thin, eat more.” Diana suddenly handed Charlotte food in the bowl. Charlotte smiled at Diana, “Thank you.”
Charlotte looked in Kennedy’s direction, and suddenly put a piece of roast pork in Kennedy’s bowl, “You eat more too.” Everyone’s action stopped!
Even the maid too!
Everyone knew Kennedy had a misophobia!
He never made anyone touch other people’s food!
Reynold watched this scene with bated breath and narrowed his eyes slightly.
Charlotte noticed the change in the environment – what had she done wrong?
Manfred flashed a smile and said, “Kennedy is…”. But what happened next interrupted his words.
Kennedy expressionlessly picked up the piece of roast pork that Charlotte had just put in his bowl and put it in his mouth.
Although this was only a small action, but it shocked those present, including Reynold. A large group of maids gawked.
Did Mr. Kennedy eat it?
Charlotte didn’t know, so she didn’t sense anything strange. When she saw that Kennedy had the food, she was pleased and lowered her head with a smile.
Then Kennedy said, “Go ahead.”
Charlotte looked up in surprise, “What?”
Kennedy looked down at her bowl before Charlotte could react, and helped her with another meal, “This?”
“Mm.” Kennedy replied and continued eating.
“……” The maids jaws were almost about to drop to the floor, was he still the same Kennedy who had been misophobic before?
How was it that suddenly his misophobia seemed to be cured?
