Chapter 313:
Charlotte nodded. She didn’t want to fall at that moment, or everything she had done would have been in vain.
She walked towards them, but after only two steps, she fell forward uncontrollably.
Charlotte fell straight to the cold ground.
Large raindrops fell on her face and body. Soon her dress was wet and her hair stuck to her hair. It hurt……
But she had to get up. She had to get out of the rain. She had to wait for Kennedy to see her.
She had a lot to talk to Kennedy about. She wanted to believe him, to love him without hesitation.
But why didn’t he come out?
For a moment, Charlotte’s eyes filled with tears, but they soon mingled with the cold rain, so she couldn’t tell if it was rain or tears on her face.
“Miss Moore!” the men shouted as they saw her fall.
Nathan had not yet returned. Charlotte blinked and as she was about to get up from the floor, a gentle but angry voice was heard above her head.
“Don’t go, it’s not necessary.”
The voice sounded very familiar. Charlotte wanted to see who it was, but before she could move, her body was lifted and a pair of warm hands held her firmly by the shoulders.
Charlotte was embraced in warm arms.
“…You’ve done enough.”
The warm voice sounded above her head. Her body was held by warm arms. Charlotte smelled a familiar breath.
“Come with me. You don’t need to stay here any longer. Save your pride if he refuses to see you.”
The next second, Charlotte was picked up straight and her hands wrapped around his neck and then she saw Manfred’s eyes.
“Manfred?” seeing him, Charlotte was stunned, how could he be here, shouldn’t he be back at the hospital? It was midnight, and here he was, AND saying those words to her!
So it meant…
In an instant, tears filled Charlotte’s eyes. She looked at him blankly. “What are you doing here?”
“Silly.” Manfred sketched a faint smile, “I said I’d take you to him. How can I go alone if you haven’t seen him yet?”
“I…he doesn’t want to see me.” Charlotte bit her lower lip with tears falling.
“It doesn’t matter.” Manfred held back the urge to wipe away her tears and smiled weakly, “It doesn’t matter that he can’t see you now. Since he doesn’t want to see you, I’ll get you out of here.”
With that, he turned and left.
Charlotte’s face changed and she grabbed his sleeve. “No, no! I can’t leave here. I’ll wait for you here. There are so many things I want to tell you.”
Manfred paused for a moment and lowered his eyes reproachfully.
“Don’t you understand, he doesn’t want to see you. If he had any love for you, he wouldn’t have left you until now. I’ve tried to resist the urge to get out of the car, just to make you understand.”
“……”
His words hurt Charlotte and she couldn’t say a word.
She stared at him for a moment and then sobbed.
“But tonight was my fault. I said he would come, but I kept him waiting all night and didn’t show him.He? now he’s getting back at me, making me wait. I should understand…”
“Don’t think too much about it. It’s not your fault. There was a car accident. If it’s your fault, he’s atrocious. Charlotte, I took you out of here first. You’re weak and injured today, you can’t hold on.”
With that, Manfred picked her up straight away and walked away.
Charlotte struggled forcibly.
“No, I’m not going! I said I’ll wait here until you see me! I can’t go.”
“Well…” Manfred frowned. Charlotte didn’t dare struggle, because she knew Manfred was seriously injured. As she struggled, she must have touched his wound.
Manfred stopped and gave a wry smile, “Why don’t you keep fighting? You could have just pushed me out of the way and gone back to the door, but I’ll tell you, I’ve been watching, and now I’m going to take you out, and I’m not going to let you go easily. Unless I fall in the rain, I won’t let you come back and lose your dignity.”
Charlotte, “…Manfred, why are you doing this?”
“And you, why are you doing this?”
Charlotte was speechless, she bit his lower lip, “I know I owe you, and I know I have to do what you said, but please let me off. This is between Kennedy and me, I want to settle it myself. No matter what I do, it’s my own free will.”
“No matter what you say, I won’t let you go again.” Manfred hugged her and headed for the car. The people at the door were stunned to see that. What was going on?
Why was Manfred here and taking Charlotte away?
“Manfred, please put me down, I really want to wait for him here, I promised him…… I can’t go back on my word…”
Charlotte looked good and could still argue with Manfred, but the next second, her voice weakened and then her head tilted back.
Manfred was surprised and narrowed his eyes, “Charlotte?”
“Manfred, let me …. come back!” He said in an unconscious voice.
Damn it!
He must have been on his feet for a long time and the wind had blown his brains out of his head.
Otherwise, how could she now feel increasingly dull and dizzy?
The whole world was spinning.
It was like an earthquake.
No, she couldn’t pass out…. She would have to wait for Kennedy.
She had so many questions to ask him. What was going on? Why was he so angry?
Why did he give her the divorce settlement?
Right…the divorce settlement.
“You’re tired. Get some sleep. I’ll take you now.”
“No, no…”
Charlotte listened to his faint voice until it disappeared.
She was in the dark .
