Chapter 302:
Kennedy, “Why do you think I’m waiting for him to come?”.
Nathan, “You’ve been watching the door, aren’t you waiting for Miss Moore?”
He meant to say he had seen her with both eyes, but it seemed impolite to say that, so he changed the sentence.
“I was looking at the door and you think I’m waiting for her? Nathan, when have you ever changed careers to look into people’s hearts?”
Nathan, “…Well, forget it.”
He was obviously waiting for Miss Moore, but he wouldn’t admit it.
He didn’t know what was going on with these two.
But…thinking about his research, Nathan was anxious.
‘You must come, Miss Moore, if you don’t come… I’m afraid…’
Nathan didn’t dare to think about it.
After all, it was an important day. Kennedy wanted to invite her to attend the party, he wanted to introduce her identity to everyone, so that everyone would know that Charlotte was his Kennedy wife.
Before leaving, he asked her, but she refused.
‘Woman, you’d better come before the party….
Otherwise I wouldn’t forgive you.’
Kennedy said quietly in his heart, then hummed coldly and rolled his wheelchair to leave.
On the way Charlotte glanced at the time and checked that it was ten minutes to eight, but they were still on the road.
“Manfred, are we getting there yet?”
Manfred nodded, “Well, we’re over the bridge and two hundred yards to go.” That was great!
Charlotte smiled. The bridge was close – she’d see Kennedy soon!
She didn’t break her word and was able to get there in time.
Manfred sped up, but there was an accident.
As they approached the bridge, a small truck swung around and came toward them at high speed.
Charlotte sensed something was wrong, and when she looked up, the truck was very close to them. She was speechless with fright and stood and watched as the truck crashed into them.
When Manfred realized this, he hurried to turn the steering wheel. He panicked and didn’t expect it. As he turned the wheel, he shouted to Charlotte: “Charlotte, lie down!
¡¡¡¡¡¡Bang!!!!!!
…
Bang!
The party started punctually, with the sound of fireworks exploding to the beat of the music. The guests were already there, but Kennedy did not see that familiar figure.
Nathan looked at the time: “It has just started and it will take more than ten minutes for all the guests to arrive”.
At that, Kennedy frowned, “Did you give him the invitation?”.
Nathan was stunned and then shook his head, “No.”
“Damn it, how’s he going to get in without that?”
Nathan suddenly reacted, “I know, I’ll go downstairs and pick it up.” Nathan then quickly turned to go downstairs. He headed for the door, where a few front desk attendants were checking the invitation. If Miss Moore was here without an invitation, she couldn’t come in.
Many people knew Nathan, so they greeted him.
“Nathan, are you here to help?”
Nathan smiled and replied, “Yes, I’m here to pick someone up.”
“Wow, must be an important person, can you tell us who it is?” ……”
“Hurry inside, the party has started.” Nathan didn’t tell him. After all, Mr. Kennedy would introduce her in person.
Nathan looked at the crowd. People were well dressed today, but he didn’t find Charlotte. Nathan was anxious and did not know if Miss Moore was coming.
Nathan pulled out his phone to call Miss Moore.
“Hello, the number you have dialed is temporarily out of service.”
The cold official female voice repeated this phrase over and over again. Nathan’s expression changed immediately, how could this be, was Miss Moore really not coming tonight?
He was anxious. At the thought of Kennedy’s cold poker face, Nathan felt the despair of life. If Miss Moore wasn’t coming, Kennedy’s mood….
Nathan would like to look for her himself. Even if she did not want to come, he had to find Miss Moore.
At this thought, Nathan put the phone away and went outside, but was stopped, “Nathan, are you coming out? You can’t come out now.”
Nathan was annoyed. He frowned as he heard him, “What do you mean?”
“There was an accident on the bridge. The driver of a small truck was drunk and hit the bridge railing. It was really a crime. Why did he drive after getting drunk? Now we can’t get over that bridge and the police are there.”
“Is that so?” Nathan frowned more. If the security barrier had crashed and the police were there, would Miss Moore be blocked at the other end?
With that thought, he returned to the second floor. As he turned to Kennedy and was about to tell him that, Kennedy said in a cold voice, “She’s not coming, is she?”
“Mr. Kennedy, there’s…”
“If so, let her.”
As he finished his words, Kennedy turned to leave the second floor. Nathan’s expression changed and he caught up with Kennedy, “Mr. Kennedy, perhaps Miss Moore is still on her way. Before she left the villa she told me she was coming. She’s not the type to go back on her word.”
“Really? And where is she now?”
Nathan, “Well…”
He couldn’t say a word, in fact, he could understand Kennedy’s state of mind, after all, after knowing those things, he still gave her a choice, but Miss Moore chose another.
Ten minutes after the party started, Miss Moore was still a no-show. No wonder he was angry.
Nathan had to follow Kennedy, as for Miss Moore…… If she would come, he could pick her up then!
“The bridge railing was damaged and the truck hit several cars on the road. Several people were injured. The investigation is continuing.”
When Manfred was rescued, he was in a semi-coma and was punctured by broken glass, and probably had a bruised brain and was now still bleeding.
Once saved and lying on the ground, he grabbed the man’s hand. “Save her!”
The man was stunned. “You mean there’s someone in the back seat?”
“Yes!”
“Good, we’ll get her out right away.”
