Chapter 298:
Nathan handed her the box and Charlotte took it. It was a dress.
“Put it on and join a party with me.”
Charlotte was stunned, “But I’m meeting Yanis.”
Hearing that, Kennedy frowned, “You’ve been with her these past two days, can’t you go to the party with me?”
“But I’ve made a date with her…” she had something important tonight, and Kennedy invited her to the party. It was no good turning him down directly, so she said, “Can you go first, and then I’ll join after I meet Yanis?”
“Is it important?” Kennedy asked.
“What?”
“Is Yanis more important than me?”
Charlotte looked at Kennedy stunned-what was that question? For some reason, she felt guilty about his sharp stare. He seemed to have seen through her mind.
Did he know?
At this thought, Charlotte’s lips twitched.
Then she said, “No, but I’ve made an appointment with her.”
“Can’t you join me once?” Kennedy was depressed.
Thinking of the person she was going to meet tonight, she said, “No, if you have a party another day, I’ll go with you.”
Hearing that, Kennedy flashed a wry smile.
Then he stared at her for a long time and then said, “Go ahead.”
Charlotte, “…”
Did she agree? Charlotte felt it was too simple, but it was time to see Yanis.
Never mind, just get the truth. If there was still some time when she was back, she would go to the party.
“I have to go.”
With that, she walked past Kennedy, but he grabbed her wrist.
“You have to go?”
Charlotte lowered her head and looked down at her hand. Her fingers were slender and her hand was warm. She nodded, “Yes, I’ll come see you when I get back.”
As his words were spoken, she felt him hold her tighter, but he soon released her. Charlotte lowered her head to see his expression and his eyes, but Kennedy quickly left.
Soon, he disappeared. Charlotte blinked and looked at Nathan standing to the side.
“What’s wrong with her?”
Nathan was about to speak but then shook his head, “Nothing.”
Charlotte, “…Really?”
“Miss Moore, Mr. Kennedy was hoping you could join the party tonight.”
“I’m sorry, I’ve made an appointment with Yanis. Give him the address, I’ll be there when he gets back, when is the party?”
Nathan thought before he spoke, “Eight o’clock.”
Charlotte glanced at her phone, “It’s 6 o’clock. I still have time.”
Then she picked up the box, “I’ll have the dress. Send me the address. I have to go.”
Soon, Charlotte was off in Sebastian’s car. She didn’t know that Kennedy was standing by the window watching her car.
On the way, she glanced at the time. The destination was far away and it would take half an hour to get there from Villa H. It was 6 p.m., but it took a long time on the way.
He didn’t know how long it would take him to talk.
“Be faster, Sebastian.”
Charlotte urged. She didn’t want to urge, because safety was the most important thing.
But she felt uncomfortable. And it had intensified since she’d met Kennedy. And her eyelids were trembling.
She felt that something was going to happen.
Nathan sent her the address and one more sentence.
“Miss Moore, if possible, come back now. If not, I hope you can be at the party, because it’s an important day.”
Charlotte giggled and asked what important day it was.
Then Yanis called out to her.
“Charlotte, I’ve arrived, when are you coming?”
Charlotte didn’t know that route and could only ask Sebastian, “Where are we, Sebastian?”
Sebastian was silent and then said, “Ten minutes to go.”
Yanis heard that and nodded, “Okay, I’ll wait for you inside. Come in when you get there.”
“Ok.”
After he hung up the phone, he checked to see that Nathan hadn’t answered. Maybe he was busy.
Thinking about it, he hung up the phone.
When she arrived, she saw Yanis in the corner. There were few people and Sebastian followed her.
Charlotte looked back and said to Sebastian, “Sebastian, you can come back now.”
“But, Miss Moore, aren’t you going to a party? I know that way and I can wait here.”
“That’s all right. I still have time. Don’t worry.”
“I’m afraid you’re going to wait a long time and it’s getting late. I can take a cab to be there.”
Sebastian looked at the time and thought Charlotte was right. He nodded and left.
When he left, Charlotte came in with Yanis.
Yanis was bored and was still playing with her phone. He looked around and saw Charlotte walking in.
Charlotte walking in. She stood up and greeted Charlotte, “Charlotte, I’m here.” Charlotte walked over to her and sat down.
“Where’s Manfred?”
