Chapter 291:
After Charlotte left, Megan helped Diana back to the hospital bed and couldn’t help but ask, “Why did you two get in a fight?”
Diana sobbed, turned away and refused to answer.
Megan could see that this was no ordinary fight. Before Charlotte gave Diana a look, as if to say she would no longer be her friend.
She wondered if she should tell Zain.
After a moment of thought, Megan said, “Miss Diana, you rest. I’ll go out.”
Hearing that, Diana shouted, “No!”.
Megan was confused, “Why?”.
Diana sat up from the bed and gritted her teeth: “Don’t tell my brother.”
Megan raised her eyebrows and blinked, seeing that Diana had a different attitude.
Was she wrong? She was still crying, but now she was being domineering.
“Miss Diana, are you talking to me?”
“Megan, please don’t tell my brother what happened between Charlotte and me. He’ll worry about me.”
“Really?” Megan felt strange that Diana would have such a change.
“Yes, Megan, please.” Diana held Megan’s arm, trembling and looking at her with innocent eyes, “I’ll take care of it. Charlotte was in a bad mood today. When I’m released from the hospital, I’ll get her. Please don’t let my brother know.”
Seeing that, Megan felt that maybe she was wrong. Even if she didn’t, maybe Diana was just lost her temper at this point. At this thought, Megan said, “Ok, Miss Diana, don’t worry.”
Hearing that, Diana gave a smile, “Thank you, Megan.”
After leaving the hospital. Charlotte had a pale face. She was crying, so her eyes were red.
Rebecca took the handkerchief to wipe her tears.
Suddenly, Charlotte stopped her. Rebecca was stunned, “Miss Moore?”
Charlotte took the handkerchief to wipe away her own tears, “I’m fine, let’s go back. I’ll be back here.”
Rebecca didn’t know that had happened, but from the look and Charlotte’s tone she could tell it was something important. They might have broken up. But she didn’t know why.
Rebecca was curious. But seeing that Charlotte was sad, she didn’t ask any questions. Charlotte stopped crying, watching the hospital door receding in the rearview mirror.
As of today, they were no longer friends.
On the day of the incident, Rebecca thought Charlotte’s low mood would last for a long time, and even affect Kennedy, but after returning to Villa H, Charlotte adjusted her mood. She was calm as nothing had happened.
In the afternoon, Charlotte said she would go out. Rebecca and Sebastian wanted to follow her, but she refused outright.
“Don’t follow me. I want to stay with my friends today. I want to go alone.”
Since what happened at the hospital, Rebecca and Sebastian were worried about her, “Miss Moore, even if you don’t agree with Sebastian following you, you should allow me to follow you. I can accompany you to go anywhere.
“No.” Charlotte shook her head slightly, “Don’t worry, I’m an adult, not a child. I’ll be fine.”
“But…”
“Right Rebecca, Sebastian, a lot has happened these past two days. Please keep my secret. I don’t want Kennedy to know at the moment.”
Rebecca bit her lower lip, “Miss Moore, you can rest assured. As I promised, I’ll keep my mouth shut. But Sebastian and I are worried about you? Why don’t you let Sebastian send her off and he’ll come back when he’s at the destination?”
Rebecca was very worried about her and had been trying to persuade Charlotte. Charlotte could understand her state of mind, she finally agreed to let Sebastian send her off with Yanis and leave when Yanis picked her up.
“What brought you here all of a sudden, aren’t you used to living in Villa H?”
Yanis made a joke. Charlotte pouted. Yanis checked that she wasn’t in a good mood, so he asked, “What’s wrong with you?”
Charlotte pursed her lips and looked at her in a daze, “Can I live with you for a few days?”
Yanis, “What’s wrong, did you guys have another fight?”
“I want to talk to you, but I don’t know what to do.”
Yanis noticed that she was somber, and nodded, “Take the key and wait for me upstairs.
I’m going to buy something at the mall. It’s dinner time, eat with me.”
“Okay.”
Charlotte took the key and looked at her gratefully, “Thank you, Yanis.” It had been a while since they had met, but Yanis was good to her.
Now she knew Yanis was different from Diana.
When Kennedy was around, Diana would approach Kennedy, but Yanis would not. She would stay away from them. He would talk for Kennedy with her and never force her to be with Manfred.
People were different.
“You’re welcome. Be good, it’ll take me an hour. I don’t think you can go with me, so I’ll go alone. Wait for me upstairs.”
When Yanis left, Charlotte took the key and went upstairs, opened the door and went inside.
It wasn’t a big apartment, but it was warm.
She had a feeling of belonging here.
She put down her bag, sat down on the couch and closed her eyes.
Then she felt asleep on the couch. Yanis sensed that it was quiet when he entered the room and realized that Charlotte had fallen asleep on the couch.
He had to go to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Charlotte woke up when she got hungry. She was in a bad mood at noon, so she didn’t eat. But after all, she had a baby in her belly.
