Chapter 282:
Charlotte looked at Zain.
She couldn’t tell anyone else until all the facts were known.
After all, Zain was Diana’s older brother. If he hadn’t treated himself well, Diana would be angry with her.
She was angry and sad.
But seeing Diana lying in the bathtub covered in blood, hearing that she didn’t want to live anymore, she felt her heart ache. At that moment, she felt like a demon.
It was she who forced Diana to make that decision.
“Okay.” Zain stood up and said with a calm face, “Stay here.”
With that, he went to leave. Charlotte followed him. “Can we go to the intensive care unit now?”
“No, don’t worry.”
Charlotte figured that since she couldn’t go in now, she couldn’t stay here, lest Kennedy find out.
Thinking about this, Charlotte said aloud, “I’ll be back now. I’ll come to see her 24 hours later.”
Hearing that, Zain’s lips twitched and he nodded, “Okay, your driver is still waiting for you outside, you can go straight back.”
“Yes.”
After saying goodbye to Zain, Charlotte left the room alone. As she headed for the door, she turned and thanked Zain. After all, he got a ward and let her stay.
Zain raised his hand with a reassuring face, looked at the time on his wristwatch and then said quietly, “I’m going back to the company. You can go back first.”
Charlotte paused. She thought Zain would be here with Diana, but……
she thought she was wasting her time in the intensive care unit, where there was round-the-clock care.
Charlotte was relieved and followed Sebastian out of the hospital.
Back at the villa, Charlotte’s face did not look good. She looked out the window at the scenery and did not feel good thinking about Diana in the bathtub.
The ICU staff were going to take care of her for 24 hours, weren’t they?
Thinking about this, Charlotte closed her eyes, feeling tired both physically and mentally.
Sebastian probably knew she was uncomfortable, so he comforted her, “Miss Moore, Miss Diana will be fine, don’t worry.”
Hearing that, Charlotte suddenly came to her senses and opened her eyes to look at Sebastian who was driving, “Sebastian, what happened today…”.
“Miss Moore, don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”
Charlotte smiled in relief. “Thank you. I don’t want to tell him, it turned into something that has nothing to do with him.”
“I understand.”
Charlotte closed her eyes. She told Sebastian it had nothing to do with Kennedy, but was it true?
Diana committing suicide had nothing to do with them?
Returning to Villa H, Charlotte shivered as the sea breeze blew. Rebecca approached her and asked, “Are you cold? It’s cold now. Hurry inside the house.”
Rebecca noticed that Charlotte’s clothes were not what she was wearing when she went outside. She had some doubts. When she wanted to ask, she saw Sebastian, behind Charlotte, winking at her.
Rebecca had worked here for years. Seeing that, he stopped. Charlotte was distracted and walked into the room. Rebecca asked after Charlotte disappeared in her line of sight.
“Sebastian, what happened today? Miss Moore doesn’t look well.”
Sebastian sighed, “She ran into something today, but it’s under control now.”
“What is it? Tell me.” Rebecca asked.
Sebastian felt she was curious and wouldn’t tell the others, so he told her, saying that Charlotte went to see her friend, but she attempted suicide and was sent to the hospital.
Rebecca nodded, “If her good friend suddenly attempted suicide, she must be in shock. Sebastian, I will comfort Miss Moore and tell the others. It’s dark, you can come back.”
“Okay, I know you’re smart, I’m going.”
Charlotte went back into the room, sat down on the couch and looked straight ahead without focusing her eyes.
Rebecca brought in a bowl of hot soup, “Miss Moore, a bowl of hot soup will keep you warm.”
Staring at the steaming soup, Charlotte suddenly remembered Diana falling into a pool of blood, slowly, the bowl of soup unexpectedly turned to blood, dripping, shocking her line of sight and her brain.
Charlotte’s lips were pale and she was trembling. Rebecca found her unwell and was about to ask her what was wrong, Charlotte suddenly screamed and slapped the bowl.
Bang!
The glass bowl fell to the floor and shattered into glass shards. Rebecca startled and opened her eyes. “Your hand!”
Charlotte felt only pain in her hand. Hearing Rebecca’s voice, she pulled herself together and checked that it wasn’t blood, but a bowl of soup. Rebecca looked at her doubtfully.
Then she realized what she had done. Charlotte bit her lower lip regretfully, “I’m sorry, Rebecca, I…I just…”
“Miss Moore, it doesn’t matter.” Hearing her apology, Rebecca was so shocked that she recovered after a good while and comforted her, “I heard all about it from Sebastian. It’s normal for you to be distracted now. If you can’t have the soup now, why don’t you take a bath first and I’ll bring you the soup later.”
“You know? You……”
“What’s wrong?”
Wide-eyed, Charlotte wanted to tell Rebecca not to tell the others, but outside came Kennedy’s deep voice.
Her face suddenly changed, Kennedy was back?
As she thought, Kennedy sitting in a wheelchair already appeared in the room.
Charlotte looked at Kennedy in a daze.
“Mr. Kennedy, you’re back.”
Kennedy entered the room and saw the mess on the floor and Charlotte’s face pale.
Charlotte’s heartbeat quickened, she unconsciously looked at Rebecca.
“What’s wrong?”
Rebecca hurried to answer and replied, “I’m sorry, Mr. Kennedy. I slipped carelessly and hurt Miss Moore.”
