Chapter 28:.
Charlotte would never forget what Kennedy told her.
In public, she was just his assistant. But even when they returned home, she would not be his wife.
Charlotte knew that well.
This marriage was to take what they needed.
“Housekeeper?” repeated Kara and looked at her playfully. Then she sighed, “Okay, it’s up to you. Come and sit here.”
Charlotte came over and Kara began to help her with her hair.
“Will you fix my hair?”
“Of course I will. You can’t go to the party like that.”
Kara was very quick. She helped Charlotte with her hair and cut her bangs.
Charlotte’s hair was straight and smooth. The bangs cut by Kara hung down over her cheeks, beautifying her face. Kara also curled her hair and left it fluffy.
Next, Kara did Charlotte’s makeup.
“That’s it.”
Charlotte sat up and almost fell asleep when suddenly Kara snapped her finger in front of her. Charlotte startled and opened her eyes.
In the mirror appeared a woman with fair skin, long hair and very sexy red lips.
Charlotte startled at this woman.
“How are you doing, are you surprised by your beauty?”. Kara rested a hand on the table, looking at her with a slight smile on her face.
Charlotte moved forward and looked at herself in the mirror. She felt unreal.
Was it really her?
Was she that beautiful?
“There’s no need to doubt. This is you. Your features are delicate and your skin is good. But you tend to neglect its care. That’s why your skin is a bit dry. Take this spray with you. If you feel your skin is dry afterwards, use it. You can also buy more masks and apply them to take care of yourself.”
Being shown this way by Kara, Charlotte nodded and stammered, “Okay…I see.”
“You are very beautiful. Kennedy will adore you.”
Being complimented by someone for the first time, Charlotte felt lost.
At that moment, Nathan urged them to go outside. Then, Kara led her outside.
Nathan was surprised to see Charlotte. He pointed at Charlotte, his lips trembled for a long time. Finally he said, “Mr. Kennedy is already awake. Miss Wilson, let’s go.”
“Okay.” Hearing Kennedy wake up, Charlotte became unconsciously nervous.
Charlotte got out with Kara. The car door was open and Kennedy was sitting inside. The laptop in front of her was on. She was typing with her slender fingers. He had a Bluetooth headset glued to his ear. His thin lips moved from time to time. She seemed to be busying herself with her work.
“Mr. Kennedy, she’s ready.” Nathan leaned closer and said softly.
Kennedy ignored him and said something to those on the other side of the laptop. When he finished, he turned off the laptop and looked at them coolly.
At first, Kennedy merely glanced inadvertently at Charlotte. When her gaze swept over Charlotte, a flash of astonishment crossed her dark eyes. However, he quickly concealed himself. Except for Kara, no one noticed. Kara put her arm around Charlotte’s shoulder, “She’s beautiful, isn’t she?”.
Hearing this, Charlotte bit her lower lip nervously.
Her lip color was light. So Kara chose the most classic lipstick for her. She put on the lipstick, which was the same color with peach. When she bit her lip, Kennedy couldn’t take her eyes off her lips.
After dressing, Charlotte was actually more beautiful than before. The exquisite gown outlined her figure. She was curvaceous, with a slender waist and a lush bosom. She had long, straight legs with high heels.
Charlotte now had the temperament. But… she seemed to be missing something.
Kennedy looked up. When his gaze swept over her pink lips, he paused for a moment.
Then he looked away and stared into her eyes.
Kennedy thought he probably knew what Charlotte was missing.
Presence.
When Charlotte looked up at him, she was shy, like a kitten that had been abandoned on the street and had been searching for days for its owner. How could she follow him to the party?
Thinking about this, Kennedy smiled teasingly.
“Moderately.”
When Charlotte saw herself dressed like that, she was taken aback. But she hadn’t expected Kennedy’s assessment of her to be… moderately.
“What did you do? This makeup doesn’t look good on you at all.” After teasing Charlotte, Kennedy began to blame Kara.
Kara paused for a moment before reacting, “It doesn’t look good on her? How is that possible? She…”
“I don’t have much time to listen to your explanation. Get in the car.” After he finished speaking, Kennedy looked away and stared coldly ahead. He seemed to consider himself the king, who paid no attention to anything.
His appearance annoyed Charlotte. How could he deny something carefully prepared by others? Was it so hard to pay a compliment?
Charlotte’s weakness suddenly disappeared. She clenched her fists in silence. Then, she bit her lower lip, looking at Kennedy.
Kara looked at Charlotte and found that her beautiful eyes were filled with anger. But it was her anger that made her whole face glow. Her beautiful eyes were shining.
Kara looked at her and then at Kennedy. She thought of something and suddenly smiled.
She was silly. Kennedy was not such a simple man.
Thinking about this, Kara patted Charlotte on the shoulder, “Okay, get in the car.”
“Kara, I’ll go first. Thanks for today.”
Before leaving, Charlotte thanked Kara and then reluctantly got into the car.
With the door closed, Charlotte sat down next to Kennedy. The air in the car was permeated with a faint fragrance of her. Kennedy smelled it, too.
The faint perfume mingled with the woman’s body fragrance and became another scent.
This scent was very light, but refreshing.
Kennedy frowned slightly.
He didn’t like women wearing perfume, especially strong flavored ones.
But Charlotte’s scent made him feel very comfortable. He even unconsciously deepened his breathing.
It was only when Kennedy realized he was acting like this that he came to his senses.
Damn it! What the hell was going on with this woman?
“What does she smell like?”
He asked in a cold voice.
Charlotte turned to him and pointed to herself, “You’re asking me?”
“Is anyone else here?” said Kennedy impatiently.
Charlotte was speechless.
The driver and Nathan were also speechless.
Although they had a very low presence, they had to be considered human beings too, right? Mr. Kennedy couldn’t ignore them!
“Well, Kara said this perfume is something she just researched. She thinks it looks good on me. So she gave me one.”
After saying that, Charlotte took the perfume from Kennedy and completely forgot what Kennedy had told her a moment ago.
Kennedy looked at the perfume, a light pink liquid flowing in the bottle.
Charlotte was afraid she couldn’t see it clearly. So she leaned forward and her neck opened slightly, exposing her fair skin.
