Chapter 245:
After strapping her seatbelt on, Manfred closed the door and walked around to the other side to get into the car. Then he took off his suit and pulled it over Charlotte’s body, “Cover up well, don’t catch a cold.”
Charlotte looked at the suit, glanced at it and didn’t refuse.
Manfred was very good to her.
If… if she didn’t like Kennedy, maybe she could stay with him.
However, now her mind was full of Kennedy, she really couldn’t fool herself.
Thinking about this, Charlotte closed her eyes and did not speak to Manfred.
The car continued all the way. Finally it reached the parking lot of her house.
Charlotte was afraid of being seen by Kennedy, so she hurried to get out of the car. As she got out of the car, she put the suit in the car. Seeing that, Manfred smiled bitterly,
“You needn’t worry. I’ve asked the maid, Kennedy is not at home.”
Hearing that, Charlotte stopped at that moment and stayed in her seat. She looked at Manfred again, he was also looking at her.
“Of course, you don’t want to know where he is.” He smiled faintly and softly, but his eyes were fiercely hidden. Charlotte saw him clearly and lowered her head.
Actually, she knew. After all, Diana with the pair of earrings stood before her. Although she went to the jewelry store and asked, but still could not believe it.
She thought that maybe the sellers had lied to her, and also that she had made a mistake. The pair of earrings Diana was wearing was not Kennedy’s. How could she be with Kennedy?
So she wanted to go see if she still had the earrings.
“Take your time, walk slowly, or I’ll take you to your room.”
“No.” Before moving forward, Charlotte turned him down coldly, then moved forward slowly, and after a few steps, stopped and looked back at Manfred.
Manfred saw her look back and unconsciously called out her name,
“Charlotte……”
“Manfred, I know you are good to me. I thank you very much for your sincerity, but sentiment cannot be forced. If you want to, you can always be my brother-in-law, no matter what the situation is like between Kennedy and me.”
Hearing that, Manfred’s eyes became less bright. After a moment he flashed a bitter smile, “Is that what you want to tell me?”
“Yes, I won’t say it again. Thanks for yesterday, I have to.” With that, Charlotte turned to leave.
Watching her from afar, Manfred curved his lips, looking at her palm. His hand had touched her before, now it seemed to be haunted by her fragrance.
He stayed where he was for a long moment before leaving.
Charlotte returned to the room and found it cold and deserted.
Kennedy did not return.
For two nights, for two days, he had not returned.
Charlotte spent a night in the hospital and felt uncomfortable. First she had to take a shower. When the warm water ran down, Charlotte remembered that her wound could not touch the water. But it had been a few days now, she should be fine. If she didn’t wash her body, there would be bacteria, so she bathed with clean water and changed her clothes.
Kennedy wasn’t home, so she put on a nightgown and went straight out.
As soon as she came out of the bathroom, Charlotte felt the cold breath fluttering overhead. She stood in the same spot and stared in surprise at the person who had suddenly appeared in the room.
“Where were you last night?”
An icy voice mercilessly pounded mercilessly into Charlotte’s head.
It was no one else, but Kennedy sitting in the wheelchair. His expression was grim and cold, like the king of hell. When he asked, his eyes were sharp as a knife.
“You…” Charlotte looked at him blankly, “Why did you come back all of a sudden?”
She hadn’t been back for two nights. Why did she suddenly show up here? And how did he know she hadn’t come home last night?
“Why?” Kennedy scoffed aloud, “This is my home. Since when do I have to get consent before coming home?”
This made Charlotte’s scalp go numb. She could only softly explain, “I don’t mean that, I just…”
Her words weren’t finished, Kennedy pushed the wheelchair closer, grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
“Ah!” exclaimed Charlotte and lay face down on her body.
She had just bathed, wetness on her body. And she hadn’t put on any underwear. As she lay on her body, she felt a part of her body ache. She blushed and wanted to push it away.
Kennedy’s facial expression was grim, and his full-body breath was dark.
“Isn’t that what you mean? So what do you mean, or do you think I’ve upset you by showing up?”
“What?” Charlotte looked at him in dismay and tried to push him away, but her wrist was held so tightly that she turned pale and said, “You hurt my hand.”
“And do you know it hurts?” Kennedy looked at her coldly and said in a mocking tone, “Why didn’t you think of this the last night you didn’t come back? Huh? Do you know you’re a married woman? Do you know what you’re supposed to do?”
Hearing that, Charlotte finally understood why Kennedy was angry. She glared at him,
“How do you know I didn’t come home last night?”
“You think you can get past me?” Kennedy sneered, “You seem to be bolder since you married me. How dare you not come home at night, what did you do last night?”
Her tone was first accusatory, then indifferent,
Charlotte felt guilty and frightened-how was she to know that I hadn’t come home last night?
But being questioned like this, Charlotte suddenly reacted and wondered what qualification he had to question her.
She slowly raised her head, looked Kennedy in the eye and said in a calm voice.
“Do you care what I’ve done?”
Hearing that, Kennedy’s pupils shrank. He narrowed his eyes to look at her, “What did you say?”
Charlotte wasn’t afraid of him at all. She pursed her lips to meet his eyes and kept her voice deliberately low.
“You know what I said, Kennedy, what can you stay out for the night with and I can’t? You’ve been out for two days and two nights. I’ve only been out one night-what are you yelling at me for?”
