“No.”
Charlotte looked down and stared at her toes in a daze. “No need.”

Nathan coaxed her again. Charlotte stood up straight and walked in the opposite direction. Nathan remained in situ, a few seconds later, turning to catch up with her footsteps.
“Miss Moore, what’s the matter, hadn’t we agreed to go in together?”

After dinner, Diana pushed Kennedy out and headed for the parking lot after saying goodbye. As she was about to open the car door, a hand knocked on her car door. Diana looked up.
