Chapter 123:.
The time passed quietly. The first thing Charlotte did when she arrived at the company the next day was to request funds from the finance department.
At first, the finance department staff didn’t like it and were impatient
“How are you going to apply without a sheet? And that takes a process and time.”
Charlotte felt depressed, “Wasn’t it said it wasn’t necessary?”.
The employee rolled her eyes and said, “Who told you that? Are you new to the company? Or do you think you have a backup so you can act however you want?”
Hearing that, Charlotte’s face went pale and she bit her lower lip.
Kennedy had told her to come in, but now the finance department staff had another way of saying. What was wrong? Was the finance department staff giving her a hard time, or had Kennedy misled her?
Charlotte thought for a while before she asked again, “Well, did she make a mistake, can I apply in advance?”
The staff smiled coldly and looked into Charlotte’s eyes as if they were looking at an idiot.
“No!”
Charlotte could only turn back to the office to look for Kennedy.
Kennedy frowned after learning of this matter.
She had intended to ask Nathan to inform the finance department in advance, but he forgot about it and now she couldn’t apply for the money.
“Isn’t it allowed to apply first? Or do I…”
“Do you believe her or me?”
Charlotte, “…you.”
Unconsciously, she replied. Kennedy said, “Go again.”
“What?” Charlotte felt embarrassed and picked at her fingers. It looked like she had been kicked out after going. She felt humiliated and thought she could never do it again.
“Go.” Kennedy said firmly.
“…Okay.”
She was really short of money. Charlotte could only go there again.
Kennedy quickly made a call to Nathan, “Inform the finance department, Charlotte will request working funds.”
Nathan didn’t understand what was going on, but it was reasonable for Assistant Wilson. After all Nathan had witnessed what Kennedy had done to Charlotte.
“I know. I’ll let you know right away.”
Charlotte had been away for a long time before joining the finance department. She wondered if she should go back to Kennedy. The girl in the finance department told her to take the sheet and go through the formalities. She had always been in the president’s office, she may not have known that.
When Charlotte decided to go back, a middle-aged man with a bald head suddenly came out of the finance department. As soon as he saw her, he called out, “Assistant Wilson.”
Charlotte stopped walking and looked at him hesitantly. “You called me?”
The middle-aged man smiled, “Are you Assistant Wilson? Why don’t you come in? Come in. Come in.”
Charlotte had doubts in her heart, but he was overzealous, so Charlotte followed him to come in.
“I heard from Yanis that you’ve applied for funds.”
Charlotte nodded awkwardly, “But his people said I have to go through the process, I……”
“No, no, he was wrong!” The middle-aged man waved his hands and said, “No such thing. Assistant Wilson, how much do you want? I’ll give you a report directly.”
Charlotte, “…Is that possible?”
She looked inside and saw the girl named Yanis standing there, looking at her angrily.
“Sure, why not? Come in.”
The middle-aged man called out to Yanis, “Hurry up and ask for the amount required by Asst. Wilson. Why are you standing there, do you want to quit?”
Yanis turned around and went to get the information, then handed it to Charlotte, “Fill this in with the amount you want.”
“Thank you.” Charlotte took it politely. It took her five minutes to fill out the form carefully.
Yanis glared at her and muttered angrily, “She only has back-up. Why are you treating her specially?”
Charlotte didn’t hear clearly and looked at her with an innocent expression. Yanis glanced at her and suddenly felt that she was wicked, “What, did I make a mistake with you?”.
Charlotte said nothing, but handed him the material she had filled out. “Can I apply for five thousand first?”
“That much? Why don’t you demand all of it?” Yanis was still vicious.
The middle-aged man patted Yanis’ head, “Do you want to get fired, why don’t you pack up your stuff and go home now?”
Yanis consented, clutching his head to look sadly at the middle-aged man. Charlotte felt they were like father and daughter.
“Attendant Wilson, is five thousand enough? You’re Mr. Kennedy’s Assistant, should I give you twenty thousand more?”
Hearing this, Charlotte’s expression changed slightly. “Twenty, twenty thousand? Isn’t that too much?”
“Dad, are you crazy?” exclaimed Yanis loudly, “It’s all about the finance department. What if Mr. Kennedy blames us?”
“Who is your father? Get out of the way.” The middle-aged man waved him off, then smiled at Charlotte and said, “I’ll raise the amount directly to twenty thousand. Yanis, go take care of this matter and don’t let Asst. Wilson wait too long.”
Charlotte remained on the spot waiting for him to be taken care of. Why had they changed their attitude unexpectedly? Had Yanis turned against her?
The man’s voice came again, “I’m sorry. Yanis has a bad temper, but she has absolutely no bad thoughts towards you, Asst. Wilson, can you forgive her?”
“I thank you for your willingness to let me apply first.” Charlotte smiled.
She could see the middle-aged man being very shy when he faced her, as if he was afraid of offending her. He seemed to be under pressure, for example… sweat now broke out on his forehead as he spoke to her.
There was a palpable sigh of relief at his words.
So Charlotte couldn’t help but say, “Yanis said I had to go through the process, but now it’s not necessary. Has anyone called you?”.
