Chapter 122:
Having a bad time?
Charlotte didn’t know what to say.
If she said she had a hard time, it was true, but Kennedy was sometimes very good to her.
Even though he seemed mean, he really helped her.
She could say she didn’t have a hard time, but she had no money and could do very little.
“Sister?”
Charlotte came to herself and said with a smile, “Don’t ask so many questions. Aren’t your friends still waiting for you? Go ahead.”
Christina blinked, “Okay, I have to go.” She put the thousand in her purse.
“Go ahead, I’m leaving too.”
After she left, Christina pulled a bank card out of the wallet, she flashed a smirk looking back at her.
“Stupid.”
She put the bank card to her mouth, kissed it and then smiled.
“Two thousand is enough to move you, what a fool!”.
Then Christina put the bank card away and turned to leave.
Charlotte took a thousand back home, frowning. The other part was a group president, and a thousand wasn’t enough to pay the bill.
But Kennedy gave her the task……
Charlotte kicked off her shoes and lay back on her quilt, feeling very depressed.
After thinking, she was going to send a message to Diana, but after editing the message, Charlotte stopped.
Diana was busy helping her find him. If she borrowed money from her, wouldn’t it bother her more?
Even if they were good friends, she couldn’t keep asking her for help over and over again.
Thinking about this, Charlotte closed the phone screen and buried her face in the pillow.
“Has the mission failed?”
A male voice suddenly sounded in the background. Charlotte stiffened and turned around.
Kennedy reappeared at her back silently. Charlotte’s facial expression changed slightly, “You…… Why do you always appear silent?”
Kennedy tapped her wheelchair, “Quietly?”
Charlotte, “……”
Indeed, there was sound as she rolled the wheelchair. It was she who was in deep thought.
“What did you say?”
“How’s your mission going?”
Was she referring to cooperation with the Nelson Family? Charlotte glanced at Kennedy.
Should she ask him to pay first and deduct from his salary?
“Well…… I want to borrow some money.” said Charlotte.
Kennedy narrowed her eyes and raised her eyebrows, “Lend you money?”. She raised her lips slowly, and a sneer shone under her eyes.
Was he finally going to show his true colors?
“Yes.” Charlotte nodded vigorously, probably because she was embarrassed, so she hesitated when she said, “I’ve contacted the Nelson Group, and they said they’d like to have a talk the day after tomorrow at noon, but…I have to take you out to dinner, but I don’t have any money…”
Charlotte looked shyly at Kennedy and asked, “Can you lend me five thousand? I’ll pay you back when I get my paycheck.”
Kennedy, “…”
This woman was so unexpected to him.
He thought she would ask for a lot, but she only asked for five thousand. And what was wrong with that look and expression? Was she afraid he wouldn’t lend it to her?
Probably, the long silence gave Charlotte the illusion that he didn’t want to lend her money. Charlotte said anxiously, “I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t borrow money from you, but I really don’t have any money…”
Charlotte ducked her head with incomparable embarrassment.
“If you don’t want to borrow it, I’ll manage on my own.”
Charlotte leaned back into her pillow again, her face buried in the soft pillow, making no sound.
Inexplicably, Kennedy felt distressed for her.
She obviously had no way out, so he asked her gently, but he feared she would get angry and refuse to lend him the money. Before he said anything, she refused for him first.
What a stupid woman.
Kennedy darkened his eyes and said in a cold voice, “This should be paid for by the company, why don’t you go to the finance department?”
Hearing that, Charlotte suddenly sat up, “What, can I go to the finance department, can I go in advance?”
She thought the company would only pay after receiving the invoice, so she didn’t expect to be able to get the money before then.
Kennedy wanted to say no, but seeing her eyes and pitiful expression, he felt he could break the rule. Otherwise, he would have no escape.
“Of course.” He said quietly.
The next second, Kennedy saw Charlotte’s pupils light up, as if the dim star suddenly became suddenly bright.
Kennedy felt his heart was struck once.
Charlotte suddenly stood up and said, “I’ll apply tomorrow. Kennedy, it’s good. My previous company only paid after they had the invoice.”
Charlotte was in a better mood because she had solved the problem. Suddenly, she grabbed him by the sleeve and said, “I’ll get it right this time. I won’t give you any more trouble.”
Her hands were gentle. He looked down, feeling as if her hand was gripping his heart so he couldn’t breathe.
Then Kennedy’s voice became hoarse and low.
“Let go.”
Hearing this, Charlotte froze for a moment, realizing she had grabbed the corner of her coat. Then she withdrew her hand, but her lips pouted slightly.
Stingy, she had just tugged at the corner of her coat.
“Remember to go to the finance department.” Kennedy turned the wheelchair slowly.
“Okay.” Charlotte was pleased. The problem had been solved, and she didn’t have to worry about it breaking down.
“Don’t settle too soon. Zain’s not easy to deal with.” Kennedy’s voice pounded in Charlotte’s head to prevent her complacency.
Charlotte thought that was reasonable.
But she was still glad, at least she had resolved a thorny issue, next she had to convince Zain to cooperate with the Moore Group.
Zain was important. Talking cooperation with him should be her first sense project since joining the Moore Group….
