Chapter 950:
“Okay.”
My mother nodded with satisfaction.
After that, I said my goodbyes to my mother and left.
Two days later, the preparations for the wedding were in the final stages. In the master bedroom, I arranged everything needed for the wedding—wedding gowns, dresses, shoes, bags, jewelry, and so on. I was afraid that I’d be too busy to remember everything at the last moment.
At that time, Herbert was leaning against the bed, going through some documents. Lucas was very curious about what I was arranging and touched this and that.
Lucas walked over to Herbert and said innocently, “Dad, it’s so good to get married. I want to get married too!”
Hearing this, Herbert frowned. He turned to look at Lucas and asked, “How old are you that you’re already thinking about marriage?”
“Mommy’s clothes and shoes are so beautiful. I’m going to buy them for my bride in the future!” Lucas said, raising his head without blinking.
“Then you have to study hard first, and then earn money. If you can earn money, you can buy whatever you want for your woman,” Herbert patiently explained.
Lucas nodded and put his finger in his mouth.
“Well, Dad, you’re right. I’ll go downstairs to study!”
After that, Lucas turned and ran out.
I was still packing when I overheard the exchange between father and son. I couldn’t help but shake my head. I called out to Lucas as he ran out.
“Slow down, don’t fall!”
“Got it.”
A loud voice came from the door, followed by the sound of someone rushing down the stairs.
I turned around and sat on the bed. With a bitter smile, I said, “At such a young age, he’s already thinking about studying hard to buy good things for his wife in the future. I’m sure he’ll forget about his mother when he gets older!”
Herbert took my hand and lowered his head to kiss the back of my hand.
“Don’t you still have me?”
As he spoke, he pulled me into his arms.
It was supposed to be a warm and romantic moment, but unexpectedly, someone said in the next second, “Who’s more important, me or your son?”
I looked up and saw a pair of eyes filled with possessiveness. I decided to tease him.
“Of course, my son and daughter are more important.”
Herbert narrowed his eyes, a dangerous light flickering in them. He threatened, “I’ll give you another chance. Who’s more important?”
“You’re… equally important,” I said, changing my words.
At this moment, I had no choice but to change my answer.
