I stood up, ready to leave.

“Sit here and think about it. I’ll play with my daughter for a while.”
Herbert lowered his head and kissed Lucky on the cheek. I watched the father and daughter, resting my head on one arm.
Happiness rose from the bottom of my heart and spread to the corners of my mouth.
I was truly content that I could live such a happy life now.At dinner time, Herbert suddenly said to me, “Bella, I need to ask you for a favor.”
“My father is hospitalized in the city. My mother quarreled with him and refused to take care of him. So I want to ask if you could visit my father when you have time. I’ll be on a business trip for a few days starting tomorrow.”
“Ah? What’s wrong with your father? Why didn’t you mention it before?” I asked quickly.
“It’s not a big deal. He just fell down and needs to stay in the hospital for a while.”
I nodded and said, “Where are you going on your business trip? How long will you be gone?”
Herbert grabbed my hand with a smile and explained, “We’re having a wedding ceremony in a little over a week. After the wedding, we’ll go on our honeymoon. I’ll likely need to take some time off, so I’m going to use the next few days to inspect the surrounding projects quickly so that I can be with you without worrying about anything.”
I nodded.
“Don’t worry about the hospital. I’ll visit your dad every day.”
I leaned against Herbert’s chest and asked softly, “How many days will it take for you to inspect all the projects?”
“Three to four days.”
Herbert thought for a moment and answered.
“That long?”
I pouted and asked.
Herbert lowered his head and glanced at me. Then he stroked my long hair with his large hand and said with a smile, “You can’t bear to be apart from me for a few days?”
“I want you to stay with me every day.”
My face rubbed gently against his chest.
“I’ll be with you every day when I come back.”
