Chapter 926:
Sitting at the dining table, I kept a straight face. Lucas was so scared that he didn’t even dare to speak.
Herbert glanced at Lucas, who quickly looked at me and said, “Mommy, don’t be angry. I was wrong!”
I looked up and saw the fear and panic written all over Lucas’s face. My heart had already softened, but I knew I had to teach him a lesson. So, I deliberately asked with a stern expression, “Then tell me, what did you do wrong?”
“I shouldn’t have caused trouble in kindergarten and made you get criticized by the teacher,” Lucas replied in a trembling voice.
Hearing this, I wasn’t fully satisfied.
“That’s not all! You shouldn’t have taken Mommy’s things without asking, sneaked them into kindergarten, and played with them secretly with the other kids.”
“I know I was wrong. I won’t take anything from Mommy without permission again,” Lucas said, his voice filled with guilt.
“You can only take things if Mommy says it’s okay, understand?” I repeated firmly.
“Got it,” Lucas replied, his head hanging low like a wilted eggplant.
Herbert gently squeezed my hand and whispered, “Well, Lucas admitted his mistake. Let’s eat now.”
“Let’s eat,” I said, glancing at Lucas.

In truth, my heart ached seeing him so upset.
After a moment, Lucas suddenly raised his head and looked at me with his big round eyes. He asked curiously, “Mommy, why did you and Daddy buy so many balloons to play with?”
Hearing this, I was stunned!
Lucas continued, his innocent curiosity shining through…
“I only took one to play with secretly. Why are you so angry? And why did the kindergarten teacher get so upset when she saw me playing with the balloon? I usually play with other balloons, and you don’t get angry. Did the kindergarten teacher purposely cause trouble for me? I just played with a balloon, and she asked you to come see her. I don’t even understand what I did wrong.”
Bella’s POV:
I didn’t want to blame Lucas when I saw him looking so wronged, but I had no idea how to explain it to him.
The atmosphere gradually became awkward.
I exchanged a glance with Herbert, and he shrugged, spreading his hands.
I felt even more helpless. Just then, another sentence came from Lucky.
“Mommy, I want to play with balloons too!”
That only made me feel more frustrated, and I buried my face in my hands. At that moment, Herbert couldn’t hold it in any longer. He burst out laughing, spitting food all over the table.
“Haha…”
Seeing Herbert laugh so hard, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at him.
Herbert laughed even more.
