“Who told you that I’m running a company here?” I asked him.
I already had a strong suspicion. It was probably Connie or Emma who informed him, especially since Emma’s company was directly across from mine. But didn’t he hate the mother and daughter so much? Why was he still in contact with them?
Ryan looked momentarily stunned before answering, “My former neighbor told me. They said you’re doing well now and that I’ll have a good life in the future since you’re running your own business.”
Hearing this, I felt my anger rise. I turned around and sat down on a chair.
“It’s my business whether I run a company or not. It has nothing to do with you.”
“How can you say that? No matter what, I’m your father!” Ryan protested, his voice tinged with grievance.
“Don’t say that again. I’ve already cut ties with you. I have nothing to do with you,” I said coldly.
Ryan, who had been trying so hard to play the victim, now began to scold me directly.
“Bella, I’m your father! Now that you’re living a good life, why won’t you recognize me? Humph, who would do business with a terrible person like you?”

I pointed to Joey and Amy and said, “Let him say whatever he wants. I don’t care. In my heart, my father has already died! If he causes any more trouble, call the security.”
As soon as I finished speaking, my eyes welled up with tears. I couldn’t forget the hardships I endured as a child. My mother, sister, and I had struggled for years, and just thinking about it now made my heart heavy.
