Chapter 857:
Herbert took my hand again and said, “Trust me.”
With that, he led me toward the marriage registry.
I didn’t know what was happening either. I just knew that I wasn’t as decisive as I had been last time. My heart was racing, and when I signed my name, my hands trembled.
“God, what’s wrong with me?” I thought to myself.
Where had my courage gone? Was it that the older I got, the more timid I became? Or was this just what they called pre-marital anxiety?
When we left the office, I looked down at the marriage certificate in my hand. I felt a little scared. I had married Herbert again. Honestly, I had been looking forward to this for a long time, but right now, I couldn’t feel the excitement. Herbert, on the other hand, was holding the marriage certificate with a smile.
Seeing him happy made me laugh. The uneasiness I had just felt slowly disappeared.
He was always very serious, but recently, he had become much more cheerful and often laughed.
The next moment, I suddenly pulled out my phone from my bag and took a quick picture of him smiling foolishly.
Hearing the sound of the camera, Herbert looked up and saw me taking a photo of him with my phone. He couldn’t help but frown.

“What are you doing?”
“I took a picture of you giggling,” I said, raising the phone in my hand with a mischievous smile.
“That’s so ugly. You can’t keep that!” Herbert replied.
Without hesitation, he stepped forward and tried to grab the phone from my hand.
But in a flash, I ran towards the car.
Herbert quickly chased after me.
We played like two children, and the air around us felt sweet.
A few minutes later, we sat in the back seat of the car.
“Bring it over and let me see,” Herbert said, holding out his hand to me.
I held my phone with both hands and said with a smile, “Then you have to promise me you won’t delete the photo!”
Herbert nodded and said, “Okay, I won’t delete it.”
“Don’t lie to me,” I replied, raising my chin with a playful look.
I handed the phone over to him with ease.
He took the phone, looked down at the picture on the screen, frowned slightly, and then touched his chin with a smile. After a moment, his expression grew a little more serious.
Bella’s POV:
Then, Herbert handed the phone back to me. True to his word, he hadn’t deleted the photo. He even said, “This photo is good. Please print it and put it on the photo rack as a keepsake.”
Hearing this, I was stunned. I thought to myself, Why is he acting differently now? He’s always been so concerned about his image and usually hates these kinds of awkward poses and movements.
