Chapter 834:
However, the more I resisted, the angrier he became. He kissed me fiercely, making my lips hurt.
I was pressed against the tall desk, his strong hands gripping the back of my head and my waist.
I couldn’t move at all.
He was like a wall of muscle. I tried my best to push him away, but failed. In the end, my arm became numb from the pressure, and I could only submit to his actions.
Just then, the office door suddenly burst open!
The sound of a broken coffee cup followed.
Finally, Herbert released me. I looked up and saw the secretary—the one who had stopped me at the door—staring at us in shock.
In that moment, our position looked incredibly ambiguous. I quickly tried to push Herbert away.
But he didn’t move at all. His hands were still firmly on my shoulders, and his face was dark with fury. He roared toward the door, “Who let you in?”
“… Mr. Wharton, I’m here to deliver coffee,” the secretary stammered, visibly trembling. She was mortified. Coffee spilled all over her feet, and her skirt was drenched in it.
My face flushed with embarrassment. Someone had walked in, but he still refused to let me go. I half-sat on the desk, my short skirt exposing my legs. I felt so exposed and humiliated, especially with the secretary witnessing it. She probably thought I had come here to seduce Herbert.
Bella’s POV:
“Get out!”
Herbert shouted at Emma.
In an instant, Emma quickly stepped back, not even daring to pick up the coffee cup that had been overturned.
The door to the office closed behind her. Feeling the awkwardness of the situation, I said, “Can you let me go first?”
“No!”
Herbert, however, was furious. He lowered his head, as if he was going to kiss me.
I pushed his face away, refusing to let him get any closer.
“Herbert, don’t mess around. This is your office!”
“It doesn’t matter where I kiss my woman,” he retorted.
“I’m your ex-wife! I don’t have much to do with you anymore!”
I shouted, struggling against him.
He leaned in, pressing me against the hard desk. With his face dangerously close to mine, he asked fiercely, “I can give you everything that old man can give you—and more. Why do you have to get close to him? Do you lack a father’s love?”
His words hit me like a sharp blade. My eyes welled with tears, and I nearly broke down.
Herbert had gone too far.
His words pierced my heart deeply.
At that moment, Herbert let go of me.
