Chapter 821:
“Don’t tell me you two still haven’t reconciled. Is it worth it? Can’t you say something nice? You’ll push all the men away like this, do you understand?” Joey reminded me gently.
“So be it! If he’s not meant to be with me, even if he stays now, he’ll leave eventually,” I replied stubbornly.
“You’re really being stubborn. Don’t come crying to me when another woman ends up with Herbert,” Joey teased.
Her words only made me feel worse. Still, I was determined to hold my ground.
“It’s fine by me. I’ll feel relieved if another woman takes him away!” I said angrily.
“You’ll definitely regret it,” Joey shook her head helplessly.
“Can we not talk about him, please?” My mood soured every time Joey brought up Herbert.
“Alright, let’s drop it. Sigh,” Joey sighed.
Just then, Mr. Hall walked through the entrance. Both Joey and I spotted him. Perhaps because of my bad mood, I drank heavily during dinner with Mr. Hall. By the time we left, I was completely drunk. Fortunately, Joey hadn’t drunk much. She helped me into Mr. Hall’s car, where I leaned against the back seat, my cheeks burned hot, and my head spun with dizziness.
I wasn’t sure what was happening, but I had felt an overwhelming urge to drink tonight, and now I had no strength left. I had never consumed so much alcohol before.
Everything felt hazy, as if I were walking on cotton. All I wanted was to sleep. I slumped against Joey’s shoulder and faintly heard Mr. Hall’s voice.

“Joey, Bella is drunk tonight. Where does she live? Tell the driver the address, and we’ll take her home.”
I opened my mouth and tried to say my address, but because I was too dizzy I couldn’t even say a complete word, luckily Joey was by my side. Joey told him the address and I slept comfortably on Joey’s body.Joey’s POV:
Soon, the car stopped, and Bella was already drunk. I helped her out of the car, and as we entered the door, Miranda rushed over in a panic.
“Miss Stepanek, why did you drink so much? Mr. Wharton has been waiting for you at home the entire night!”
I handed Bella over to Miranda, and as I looked up, I saw Herbert, wearing a white shirt, walking toward us. His expression was serious, and his eyes were as cold as ice.
I quickly explained, “Herbert, we were having dinner with a client today. She got drunk accidentally. Take care of her. There’s someone waiting for me outside. I’ll go now!”
Before I could finish, I noticed the look in Herbert’s eyes—it was as if he could kill with a glance. So, I decided to make my exit quickly.
After all, Bella was drunk now, and she was his responsibility.
“He can’t do anything to her. Besides, I know Miranda will take care of Bella,” I thought as I turned and rushed out of the villa.
I didn’t expect Herbert to come after me. I was worried he might see Mr. Hall’s car and realize we had dinner with him again. So, I quickly asked the driver to leave.
It wasn’t until the car had completely disappeared into the darkness, and I couldn’t see Herbert’s cold face anymore, that I felt fully relieved.
Herbert’s POV:
That car—it was Mr. Hall’s car. Bella had actually been drinking with that old man, and now she was drunk! This made me furious.
