Bride of Mr. Billion – Chapter 772

Bride of Mr. Billion - Chapter 772

Chapter 773:

“Why are you calling me during work hours? Are you bored? Do you want to chat with me?”

I heard Joey’s clear voice as she answered the phone.

“Joey, I’m serious. I just sold all my stocks. I feel that the stock market hasn’t been doing well lately. You should sell yours too when you get the chance,” I said seriously, not as playful as usual.

Hearing this, Joey couldn’t help but respond, “Bella, are you stupid? The stocks are doing well right now, and you sold them all!”

“The market could drop at any time. Just trust me and sell them immediately!” I insisted.

“I know, I know. Someone’s looking for me. I have to go, I’ll talk to you later.”

Then, I heard a burst of noise on the other end of the line before Joey hung up.

Knowing that Joey was a bit careless, I sent her a text message, urging her to sell all of her stocks as soon as possible.

After two days of hard work, I completed all my tasks and then went to the general manager to hand in my resignation.

When the general manager heard that I was resigning, he immediately tried to talk me out of it.

But my decision was firm, and he couldn’t convince me to stay.

The general manager was clearly reluctant to see me leave.

I understood why. It wasn’t that he was going to miss an average employee like me, but if I stayed, he could still get orders from Herbert at the Wharton Group.

That night, I met Joey for hot pot.

I was already seated when Joey arrived late, her bag slung over her shoulder.

“Bella, why would you leave your man and kids behind to meet me for hot pot?” she teased as soon as she sat down.

I smiled.

“He’s in New York. The kids are being taken care of by Gary and Miranda.”

Joey gulped down a large glass of water and then said, “I knew it. Your man’s not home.”

“I need to tell you something serious.”

I suddenly looked at Joey very seriously. At the sight of my expression, Joey was startled and waved her hand.

“If you’re about to introduce someone to me, forget it.”

I couldn’t help but smile, then explained, “Don’t worry. I’m not introducing anyone to you. I’ve quit my job!”

Hearing this, Joey stared at me with wide eyes, then reached out to touch my head. She cried, “Bella, I don’t understand. Why did you resign? Everyone in this company respects you so much.”

Bella’s POV:

I continued, “I really quit. I’m not the one they respect—it’s Herbert.”

“No matter what the reason is, the person who benefits is you. If I were in your shoes, I would never resign,” Joey said, looking at me in confusion.

“Can we eat while talking?” I asked with a smile.

“Joey, we’ve been working for so many years. Besides finding good benefits and development, don’t you want to create your own value for the future?”
