“Ah, William, what a coincidence to see you here.”
I stayed seated, not rising to greet him. However, William, the son of Daniel Morgan, the chairman of K.G. Software Company, bowed with enthusiasm.
Bella’s POV:
I hadn’t expected to run into William here.
Immediately, my thoughts went to Emma. I turned my head and saw a very beautiful young woman sitting near the window, not far from us. She was probably William’s date for the evening. I didn’t see Emma, which made me confused. William had the nerve to bring another woman here without Emma knowing? Was he really that bold? I couldn’t imagine Emma would take this lightly. It reminded me of the charity party not long ago when William didn’t dare refuse Emma in front of Connie.
It made sense, considering how Daniel Morgan, his father, was obsessed with Connie. He even threatened to disinherit William if he didn’t marry Emma.
I couldn’t help but feel sorry for William; he was in the same situation as me—having a terrible father.
And, just like me, our fathers were both hurt by the same woman.
At that moment, I watched as William’s face broke into a wide smile as he took Herbert’s hand in greeting.
“Mr. Wharton, I don’t even know how to thank you. In the future, as long as you need me, feel free to ask. I will definitely do my best!”
I looked at Herbert, confused.
Hearing these words, Herbert simply smiled slightly.
“It’s just a small matter. I have my own selfish motives in helping you…”
“No matter what your purpose is, you really helped me. I’ll pay for this meal. I really can’t think of anything else I can do for you,” William smiled.
Being held by his hand, Herbert seemed a little uncomfortable. He pulled his hand away from William’s and then looked at me, saying, “Today, I invited the mother of my children to have lunch here. I’m afraid I’ll lose face if I let you pay the bill.”
“Mother of your children? Mr. Wharton, so you’re already married. I thought you were a single nobleman.”

“Mrs. Wharton…”
