Joey smiled smugly.

I followed Joey’s gaze, noticing the direction she was looking at.

Not far from where I stood, a woman in a white cheongsam was sitting on the floor in a disheveled state, surrounded by several people—Daniel, William, Emma, and a few others. A hotel attendant stood nearby, carrying a stretcher. It seemed that Connie had been injured.
“Is she hurt?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
Joey smirked.
“When the power went out, someone bumped into her, and she crashed into an attendant carrying a tray. All the wine spilled over her head. Didn’t you see the blood? After she fell, people stepped on her a few times in the chaos. She must have twisted her ankle too.”
The corner of my mouth twitched.
I hadn’t expected Herbert’s prediction about Connie to come true so soon. It seemed like all the bad things she had done were finally catching up to her.
“By the way, how did it go?” Joey asked.
I let out a wry smile and shook my head.
“Just as I expected. Connie is Daniel’s true love. He doesn’t believe me at all.”
I hadn’t mentioned anything to Herbert about what had happened earlier. My emotions were all over the place.
