Chapter 526:
I brought Lucas home with me. As soon as we entered the door, Lucas saw Lucky standing and walking on the floor. He walked straight to her, looked at her pink clothes, and asked, “Are you my sister?”
“Ah ah ah…”
Lucky still couldn’t speak clearly, but her big eyes were fixed on Lucas. Lucas placed his hands on his hips and said, “Even though you’re not very cute, remember, I’m your brother. You don’t have to be afraid anymore. I’ll always protect you.”
Jane and I couldn’t help but laugh at Lucas’s excited tone. Then something unexpected happened. Lucky walked up to Lucas, extended her hand, and offered him a toy, babbling happily.
Lucas glanced down at the toy in her hand with a look of disdain.
“These are all girls’ toys. I don’t like them. Keep them for yourself!”
Lucky retracted her hand, then stepped closer and reached out again, grabbing Lucas’s hand and wiping the saliva from her mouth onto his clothes. Despite his initial look of disdain, Lucas didn’t push her away. It was clear he was beginning to warm up to her. Lucas brought a lot of joy to our family.
That night, there were two babies sleeping on my bed. Lucas slept on the left, Lucky on the right, and I lay happily between them. Looking at the two innocent babies, I felt a rush of emotions. I never expected to have my child back.
Under the dim light of the wall lamp, I watched the two of them sleeping soundly. Suddenly, I heard steady footsteps from outside. It was the sound of Klein’s footsteps. I knew he had waited for the children to fall asleep before coming. Now that I had two babies by my side, I realized I had neglected him.
I quietly got out of bed, put on my shoes, and walked out of the bedroom.
After gently closing the bedroom door, I turned around and saw Klein, dressed casually, sitting on the sofa.
“Are they asleep?”
Klein asked softly.
“Yes. I nodded, then turned around and sat down next to him, and rested my head on his shoulder.
Bella’s POV:
“Klein, thank you for your support,” I said, resting my head on his shoulder.
“It’s what I should do,” Klein replied, his voice as gentle as ever.
“You don’t know how happy I am right now. I have Lucas and Lucky by my side, and of course, you!” I smiled happily. Then, I added, “Actually, I’m a bit worried.”
Klein squeezed my hand tightly.
“What are you worried about?” he asked.
I looked at him, and he smiled.
“I’m afraid that after confirming Lucas is your child, you won’t marry me.”
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but laugh.
“There’s no conflict between my reunion with Lucas and our marriage,” I reassured him.
Klein stared at me, as if he wanted to say something, but the words never came. I cupped his face in both of my hands.
