Connie and her daughter didn’t press the issue. They glared at me before leaving. The security guard also turned and walked away.
At that moment, I felt a sharp pain in my face and mouth, and my scalp ached. Connie had struck me with her slipper earlier. I should have kicked her again when I had the chance.

I needed to buy some medicine for sterilization or at least ice my face; otherwise, it would swell up by tomorrow. The woman behind the counter replied, “Go straight for 100 meters and turn left. There’s a 24-hour pharmacy.”
“Thank you,” I said and left the hotel.
I put on my down jacket—it was a bit chilly at night. I lowered my head and walked quickly. About 100 meters ahead, I reached a junction and turned left. Suddenly, two figures rushed out from the dark corner.
They were two drunk men. Panic surged through me. I immediately turned to run, but they blocked my way.

The fat man leered at me, his gaze full of unwanted attention. I froze in fear. I had never been in this kind of situation before. My heart raced, and I didn’t know what to do. The other man, thin and grinning, revealed his yellowed, blackened teeth.
“Are you lonely? Do you want a man to satisfy you? We can make you feel good!”
I took a step back and shouted, “What do you want to do?”
But in my panic, I stumbled backward into the fat man. His hand brushed against my coat, sending a chill through me. My voice trembled as I said, “Don’t mess around, or I’ll call the police!”
The man smirked and said, “Madam, the police are resting now. Come on, play with us. As long as you’re obedient, we won’t hurt you! We’ll only make you feel good.”
After that, one of the two men grabbed my leg, while the other wrapped his arms around my upper body. Together, they carried me into a dark alley.
“Help!” I screamed, but my voice was muffled as one of them shoved a rag into my mouth. No matter how hard I struggled, I couldn’t break free from their grip. Fear consumed me, and my heart raced uncontrollably. I forced myself to stay calm, to think clearly. I had to find a way out. I couldn’t let this happen. If they raped me, I knew I would break completely. I used every ounce of strength to resist, but it was futile. The thinner man yanked off my coat.
He continued to tear at my clothes and pants, pulling them forcefully. I knew I couldn’t hold them off much longer. No matter how hard I fought, I couldn’t overpower the two men. What could I do? What could I do? My clothes were ripped to shreds, but I kept struggling, even as my strength began to fade. Exhaustion took over, and my resistance grew weaker. Finally, the heavier man pinned me down, his lips pressing against my face and neck. I felt sickened by his touch as his hands groped my body. The thinner man held my arms, tearing off what remained of my pants and touching me in ways that made my skin crawl.
Oh, God! I was going to be raped by these two vile men. The thought made tears stream down my face.
