Chapter 341:
The tourists whose names were called raised their hands to confirm their presence.
“Connie Briden? Emma.”
When I saw these two names, I paused. I looked towards the back of the bus and saw two women sitting there. While I wasn’t afraid of them, I knew I had to stay professional and not get into any conflicts. I represented the travel agency now, and I didn’t want to cause any trouble for the business. I decided to endure until the end of the trip.
At that moment, Emma raised her hand and spoke in a very arrogant tone, “Miss Stepanek, do you have a tour guide certificate? Are you an official tour guide?”
I knew she was trying to start something, and I had to admit I didn’t have a tour guide certificate. I fell silent, not sure how to respond.
Then Connie spoke up loudly, “We paid for this trip, and your company claims to be a legitimate travel agency. Why would they send a fake tour guide without a certificate? This seriously violates the interests of the tourists. You need to explain this right now!”
Soon, other tourists began to voice their complaints.
“We don’t want an unprofessional tour guide!”
“Is this an illegal travel agency?”
Seeing the agitation on the bus, I felt helpless. I took a deep breath and decided to be honest.
“Please, everyone, be quiet! Let me explain first.”
After a moment, the noise died down, and I continued, “I am indeed not an official tour guide, and I don’t have a tour guide certificate. I’m actually an accountant at the travel agency.”
“The accountant should be handling the accounts, not showing tourists around!” one tourist accused.
I nodded, understanding their frustration.
“First, I want to apologize. This situation happened very suddenly. The tour guide who was supposed to lead this trip is unwell and has gone to the hospital.”
“It’s Christmas today, and the other tour guides have gone home for the holidays. We can’t find a substitute guide at the moment.”
The tourists calmed down a bit after hearing this.
“Does that mean your company can just send someone without a certificate to take over the trip?” one tourist protested.
I continued, “You’re right. It was definitely a mistake on our part. However, our tour guide is unwell and will need 24 hours to recover…”
Bella’s POV:
“Postpone? That won’t do! We don’t want to postpone!”
“Yes, we have other arrangements after this!”
“I’ve always wanted to come here. If I don’t get to see the scenery on the mountain, I’ll be upset…”
The tourists started discussing among themselves.
Almost no one wanted to delay the trip, nor were they interested in getting a refund.
“I’m not a professional tour guide, but I’m very familiar with this route. We also have a driver to assist us. The hotel, restaurant, and scenic spots have already been arranged. I’ll do my best to lead you on this journey over the next two days! If our tour guide recovers, she’ll take over as soon as possible.”
I spoke with sincerity, and the tourists’ protests seemed to fade. I added, “Thank you for your understanding. Let’s go ahead!”
