Chapter 145:
Allie continued, “But don’t worry. I’ve already sent a text message to Mr. Wharton. He should receive it as soon as he lands. He might be able to return.”
“Thank you,” I whispered, keeping my eyes closed.
Then, I felt the contractions intensify, and sweat began to form on my forehead. I knew the baby was coming.
Half an hour later, the helicopter landed at the best obstetrics and gynecology hospital in K City. I was quickly pushed into the delivery room.
Third-person POV:
Outside the delivery room…
Allie and Miranda waited outside the delivery room. A few hours later, the door to the delivery room was still closed. Suddenly, the sound of high heels rubbing on the floor came from the end of the corridor.
Miranda looked up to see a well-dressed woman in her fifties and a young woman in her thirties walking over.
“Madame, Miss Ewell?”
Miranda was a little surprised.
Allie had seen Herbert’s mother once or twice, so she also came forward to greet her.
“How is she?”
McKenna looked at the door to the delivery room.
“We don’t know the details yet.”
Allie replied. McKenna frowned. Then she turned her head to look at Caroline behind her and said, “We need to .. wait a while.”
McKenna sat down while Caroline sat beside her. Allie and Miranda still stood there. A moment later, the door to the delivery room suddenly opened and a doctor in a white coat came out.
“Who is Bella’s family?”
The doctor shouted.
“Doctor, how are you doing?”
McKenna sat still. Allie stepped forward and answered.
“The patient has high levels of pregnancy-induced hypertension. It’s very dangerous. You should be mentally prepared!”
The doctor said and turned back to the delivery room. When they heard this, Miranda and Allie looked worried. With a flicker in her eyes, McKenna gave a direct order, “Allie, go back to the company immediately and find a way to contact Herbert. Ask him to come back as soon as possible!”
“Alright.”
Allie left in a hurry. After Allie left, Mckenna and Caroline exchanged glances, then Caroline immediately took out her phone and went into a corner to make a call. Two minutes later, Caroline returned. She nodded at McKenna and then said to Miranda, “Miranda, do you remember what I told you before?”
“…”
Miranda was so nervous she couldn’t say a word. She really didn’t know how to respond to what McKenna was asking her to do.
“Just do as I say. If anything goes wrong, I’ll definitely find trouble with you.”
McKenna instructed, and the two of them lifted their legs, about to leave. Miranda immediately pleaded, “Madame, I can do anything you want me to do, but I really can’t do such a vile thing to others.”
