Chapter 94:
“The new bitch in the castle, dummy!” he snapped, his voice rising to a scream.
How could she have forgotten Aurora?
A frown settled on Rosa’s face as she tilted her head to look at Silas, her mind racing.
“Oh! About that…” she began, but then faltered, her words failing her.
“Why is she still in the castle?” Silas demanded, his voice breathless with anger.
Rosa’s eyes wandered as she searched for an answer. “Because Damon ordered it,” she replied hesitantly.
“I don’t care. Just do your job and get rid of her!” he spat, causing Rosa to gasp in shock.
Her eyes widened in disbelief, as though she had seen a ghost. Silas’ words echoed in her head, repeating over and over.
“I can’t get rid of her. It’s not possible. She’s the Alpha King’s property. I’m sure you know what that means,” she protested, shaking her head.
“I won’t repeat myself,” Silas hissed, clicking his tongue in frustration as he took several steps away from her.
“I don’t care how you do it, but I want her gone for good. She is a threat to our plan.”
“How? She didn’t do anything.”
“Only a fool sleeps when his house is on fire. And it’s a pity that you are a fool!” His words cut through Rosa like a dagger, searing her with pain, but she kept her expression emotionless.
She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of seeing her hurt by his words.
She hated the way he mistreated her, and she couldn’t wait for the day she could get her revenge. If only he knew what lay hidden deep inside her heart. Once she became Luna, the first order of business would be his execution. Only then would she be free from his relentless abuse. She didn’t care that he had taken her in after her parents’ deaths during the war. The cycle of abuse would end with him.

But until then, Silas lived.
“What is wrong with you? Did I take you in for nothing?” he ranted, prompting Rosa to roll her eyes, bored. Here he goes again.
“After your parents died in the war that affected the pack, I saved your life! I clothed you, I fed you, I took you in, hoping you would be useful and return the favor, but instead, you keep rubbing your incompetence in my face every day. I’m disappointed, Rosa.” His voice dropped, and a deep frown overtook his face.
“I didn’t rescue you to be useless. If I had known this is how you’d turn out, I would have left you to die with your stupid parents!”
Rosa swallowed hard, blinking back the tears that stung her eyes as his words caused a fresh wave of pain. It felt like rubbing salt into an open wound. The memories of her parents flooded back, making her heart ache.
“I changed your life. You live in the castle because of me. You are alive because I saved you. You are forever indebted to me, and I own you!” Silas’ thunderous voice was possessive and cutting.
Rosa bit her lip, fighting the urge to scoff. He owned her? What a joke.
