Chapter 89:
It was just the two of us. Nothing else mattered.
Her presence brought a sense of calm to my troubled soul, sending my demons into hiding and filling me with reassurance.
Since Ivy’s passing, no one had ever made me feel that way. It was strange how easily Aurora revived emotions in me I hadn’t even known I had lost.
A soft purr slipped from my lips as I explored the mysteries hidden within her eyes, unable to look away.
They say eyes are the window to one’s soul.
In those eyes, I saw a broken soul that needed healing—a sad soul that longed to be loved.
But how could I do all of that when I was the more damaged one?
“Maybe I should get going,” she said in a whisper, shifting uncomfortably at our awkward silence.
“Stay.” I found myself saying, holding back her arm. Her teary gaze met my pleading one as we exchanged unspoken words. I could stare at her for the whole day without growing tired. Afraid that my demons would descend on me in droves, I was terrified of being alone.
“But—”
My finger dropped to her lush lips, silencing the rest of her words before it brushed gently against her chin. Her curious eyes watched mine, her heart pounding in anticipation. I leaned closer, claiming her lips hungrily. A thrill of wild sparks coursed through me, intensifying as I lost myself in the sweetness of her kiss.
My lips trailed down to her neck, licking and nibbling softly as she threw her head back in pleasure. “Ah!” I groaned in pain, clenching my teeth when her hands struck my chest. Her mouth flew open in shock, fear gripping her. “I’m sorry,” she muttered, swallowing hard as the corners of her mouth twitched nervously.

“Be careful next time,” I warned, cupping her face gently in my palm. Relief washed over her, relaxing her tense muscles before she leaned in to kiss me again. Sizzling sparks ignited within me, stronger than before. It was fire.
Fire consumed us as we became entangled in heat, clawing at each other’s hair breathlessly. My hands traveled to her hips, squeezing firmly before sliding lower. My fingers brushed against her moist folds, grazing her vulva and probing gently until it struck me.
She was a virgin.
Afraid that I would hurt her, I withdrew reluctantly, my gaze shifting away as I adjusted my clothes.
“Take it,” she moaned, her voice soft yet insistent, causing my brows to arch in curiosity.
“What are you—”
“Take me, my King,” she whispered, her words trembling with a mix of vulnerability and desire.
Damon
My brows creased in confusion, forming a small furrow on my forehead as I stared at her, trying to process her words. Did she just surrender herself to me without hesitation? Or were my ears deceiving me?
Swept by disbelief, I glared at her, waiting for clarification. “I’m in for whatever you want to do to me. I’ll give you anything you want. You saved my life.”
