Chapter 346:
“What?” My jaw dropped in disbelief as I shot him a doubtful look, urging him to repeat what he had just said. My heart raced with excitement and anticipation, the words echoing in my mind.
Maybe I was assuming things. He was still my master, and he wouldn’t make such a grave mistake of releasing me, especially not knowing if I would take it as an opportunity to flee.
“What did you say?” I repeated, anxiety creeping up on me. My heart pounded relentlessly as impatience began to overwhelm me. Could he just tell me already?!
“I said you shall see your parents tomorrow, and you are free to do whatever you wish from now on, without restrictions, because you are my mate, and I accept you.”
Before he could finish speaking, I threw myself into his arms.
Joy flooded through me, and my heart swelled with happiness. My arms wrapped around him, and my head dropped to his neck, inhaling his sweet scent before pulling him closer into a firm hug. His warmth surrounded me, and I nearly lost my composure.
This was a dream come true. After all these years, I was finally going to see my parents again.
“Is this a dream? Please, don’t wake me up,” I whispered, my voice shaking despite my best efforts to stay composed. Tears welled up in my eyes as my emotions took over.
“It’s reality, mate,” he responded, his embrace tightening. “From now on, you are no longer my property. You are my mate, and I accept you as a wonderful gift from the goddess.” His presence filled me with a sense of comfort and protection, like nothing I had ever known.
“How long do I have to stay?” I asked, reluctantly pulling away from the hug.
I missed his touch.
“Take your time. But please, return to me, to us. Don’t run away from us, Aurora. I trust you. That is why I’m letting you go. This is your home now and forever, Aurora.” His large hands cupped my face as he whispered, making my heart melt. My breath hitched, and my heartbeat raced wildly when the bridge of his nose grazed over mine.
“Mi casa es su casa,” he murmured against my ear, his hazel eyes locking with my brown ones.
We spent the next few minutes wrapped in each other’s warm embrace. Nothing else mattered.
All the anger I had felt earlier melted away, and I felt a tear slip from the corner of my eye. How could he be so sweet? I was no longer mad at him. How did he manage to flip my emotional switch with just his charming words?
I could feel myself melting all over again.
I wanted him around me; I didn’t want him out of my sight, not even for a second.
“I will come back. It’s a promise.” I affirmed confidently, flashing a wide smile at him.
His large fingers slipped into my hair, twirling it gently before releasing it slowly. “And I will be waiting for you. My regards to your parents.”
As if under a spell, the thought of going to my parents’ pack seemed distant. The only thing on my mind was Damon.
I wanted us to be together all night, indulging in our desires.
I missed us.
Thanks to the mate bond, our bodies became hypersensitive to each other’s touch. If we weren’t careful, we’d end up making out in the corridor.
