Chapter 338:
It didn’t take long before the floor was scattered with pieces of Ray’s phone, smartwatch, and camera.
“Your evidence is gone now. You’re nothing again. I’ll scribble my name in your heart so that next time you come into this world, you won’t have to deal with the mistress of evil. Don’t try to outsmart me if you’re not built for it,” she spat at him, a huge smile spreading across her face. “Should I?”
“No, Joe. I will do the honor of killing him myself.” She stopped Joe, pushing him aside while glaring at Ray, who blurted out inaudible words.
“It would fill me with so much pleasure to watch you suffer before I end your life,” she said with a wicked grin plastered across her face.
She knelt before him, picking up the broken pieces of glass. She was about to drive one into his chest when a white light suddenly flashed across her vision, catching her attention.
She sprang up, gesturing for Ray to check the strange light that blinked repeatedly under the door.
Ray approached the door, flinging it open to find Alex hurriedly tucking something into her skirt, then flashing a nervous smile.
“What do you want?” Joe’s unfriendly voice rang out, sending shivers down Alex’s spine.
Her soul almost left her body as Rosa angrily stormed toward her.
Alex kept her gaze fixed on the floor.
“Speak now or get out!” Rosa yelled in anger.
The interruption was ruining her fun.
“I was told… to ask if you are… hungry because I prepared… some food,” Alex stammered, closing her eyes as she braced for the worst.
“I’m not hungry, get out this instant. You should be used to the dim corridor by now. Stop using the torchlight,” Rosa snapped, dismissing her.

A wave of relief washed over Alex as she bowed and sprinted away, her hands carefully tucking the camera inside the apron that hung around her waist.
Rosa exhaled, relieved, and walked over to Ray, whose life hung by a thread. She was about to pick up the glass when the door suddenly flung open, causing a loud crash that disrupted her.
“What is wrong with you?!” she screamed in frustration, quickly hiding the body and the glass.
Her handmaid rushed in frantically, her face as pale as a ghost.
“What is it? Is it food? I’m not interested!” Rosa snapped.
“Run! Run!” the maid screamed like a madwoman, her voice shaking.
“Have you gone nuts?” Rosa shot back.
“You have to run, mistress. This instant!” the maid finally managed to say.
Rosa exchanged a glance with Joe, who waited for her permission to dismiss the maid.
“He knows everything!” the maid gasped, panting heavily. “He’s coming for you right now!” she added, her eyes darting to Ray, who was on the verge of passing out. “And you… he’ll throw you into the dungeon and let the birds feast on your carcass after a hunt. I heard him tell his guards.”
“Heard who?” Rosa asked, standing up straight as confusion flooded her.
“Alex… she showed him something that ignited his anger. He’s coming with guards, leave now!” the maid shouted.
