Chapter 254:
A slight rustling sound behind the curtain broke their intense focus, but neither of them moved.
“Says who? Don’t act all innocent. You were ready to kill Aurora,” Silas retorted, pointing an accusing finger at her.
Rosa rubbed her forehead in frustration. “You don’t get it. I always had someone else do the dirty work for me. I didn’t get involved because I needed to protect myself.”
Silas scoffed, rubbing his palms together as he leaned in closer to her.
“Maybe I need to refresh your memory. What do you mean you haven’t killed anyone? You killed Ivy by pushing her into a river and drowning her! That’s murder, and since you’ve done it before, you can do it again. Don’t act like a saint when we both know you’re a devil.”
Rosa jumped, startled, as a soft gasp filled the room. Her eyes darted around before resting on the window.
“I think someone’s here,” she whispered, about to stand up to check, but Silas grabbed her and pushed her back onto the couch.
“There’s no one here. It’s just your conscience telling you to do the right thing,” Silas said dismissively.
The rustling of the leaves outside made Rosa uneasy. She felt like she was being watched.
“We don’t have much time. You need to act fast. Find a time when Damon isn’t with his brothers in the hospital—he’s always with them like a shadow. Get Wolfsbane and inject it into them. They’ll be dead before anything starts to fall into place.”
Rosa swallowed the discomfort that lodged in her throat as she tried to process everything Silas had said. “What? Don’t you want to become a Luna?”

Those words pierced her heart, a flicker of light appearing at the end of her dark tunnel.
“Good,” Silas replied. “Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Your time starts now. I hope by the time you return, it’s good news,” he added harshly as he stood up from the couch and turned away from her.
Rosa knew that was the end of their conversation for the day. She grabbed her small purse, her mind heavy with thoughts, and left the room, burdened with uncertainty.
Not long after Rosa left, Silas signaled to his servant.
“I want that woman followed. Report her movements and activities to me. Keep your eyes on her at all times,” Silas ordered, his hard face contorted in a death glare. “Yes, sir,” the servant said, bowing briefly before quickly exiting the room.
“Stupid bitch!” Silas muttered under his breath as he punched the wall in frustration. “She’ll be dead soon, and I’ll take over the throne. That crazy bitch thinks I’m involved in this because I want her to become a Luna?” Silas sneered, bursting into laughter. “When I’m done with her, she’ll learn the hard way.”
His expression suddenly hardened, and he smashed a cup against the wall, watching the pieces shatter and scatter across the floor. His body heated as his blood boiled in rage, the fury making him feel as if he were losing control.
He hated Rosa’s presence, but he had to endure it until he became King. She was a fool to believe he would go to any length for her because of her desires.
“Fuck her!” he spat. “To think I learned from that bitch’s parents never to trust anyone. I’ll do the honor of teaching her a lesson.”
Silas laughed maniacally as he soliloquized, imagining himself seated on the throne, ruling over hundreds of packs with an iron fist.
