Chapter 203:
With those words, I left the kitchen and rushed to my room, desperate to cry it all out.
I hated thinking about Damon; it brought nothing but pain.
The past was behind me, and it was time for me to move on.
As far as I was concerned, Damon was dead to me.
Aurora
I hummed a song as I entered the bathroom.
I removed the robe that Devin had given me last night, untying the ropes around my waist and hanging it on a hook on the wall.
The bathroom wasn’t spacious, but it could comfortably fit up to three adults.
I turned on the shower, testing the water temperature and adjusting it until I was satisfied.
“A warm bath will do.”
I took off the shower cap covering my head, letting my wavy hair cascade over my shoulders.
I gently placed the cap on the hook alongside my robe.
“It’s your perfect size.”
A smile flashed across my face as Dax’s words echoed in my mind.
Since I hadn’t brought my own clothes to the house, Devin had pulled out a robe from an old wardrobe. According to him, it belonged to the elderly woman who had given them the cottage.
It took me a while to believe that a woman so old could have owned most of the outfits I wore, as they fit my body perfectly, until I saw her picture.

She must have had excellent taste in fashion.
She was slim and tall, with curves in all the right places. Her body was stunning.
I reached for the shelf above me, grabbing one of the plant-based shampoos she had made.
Devin had told me that she extracted the juices from the plant to use for her hair.
The first time I tried it, I was in love with the scent.
With a firm grip on the bottle, I poured a generous amount onto my greasy hair, scrubbing it for a while to remove the dirt. Satisfied, I rinsed the shampoo out before gathering my hair into a bun.
“Shower time!” I squeaked in excitement.
I let out a small chuckle as Dax and Devin’s voices reached my ears. They were probably outside, working out.
Naughty boys!
I squeezed a generous amount of shower gel into the sponge and worked it into a lather, scrubbing my body. It was surprising how quickly my body healed. The knife scars on my arms had completely faded.
It was as if nothing had ever happened.
My feet were healed too. I no longer felt any sharp pain when I applied pressure to them.
I loosened the bandages Dax had wrapped around them and threw them into the garbage.
