Chapter 175:
“I need to take classes from her then.”
“She’s gone now.” Sadness filled his voice as he lowered his head.
“I’m sorry,” I quickly apologized, before silence fell between us. I wanted to change the subject to lighten the mood, but then my body began to act in a strange way.
It didn’t take long before I started to feel disoriented. My head was spinning, and my eyelids grew heavy. My words became slurred with each passing second, and it felt as if a heavy weight was placed on my shoulders.
“I feel strange,” I complained, struggling to get to my feet. “So tired… why… do you have… three heads?”
Before I could take another step, I collapsed into Ray’s arms. The last thing I saw was a bright flash of light directed at me before I succumbed to unconsciousness.
Damon
I walked into the room, quietly closing the door behind me to avoid making any noise.
Waking Aurora was the last thing on my mind, as I didn’t want to announce my presence just yet.
I let out a sigh as I crossed the room toward the bed where she lay.
The soft snores and her rhythmic breathing confirmed she was fast asleep.
Perfect.
Work had been hectic, and the pack’s affairs were about to drive me crazy. The stress was weighing on me, leaving me exhausted, irritated, and drained.
Inhaling Aurora’s sweet scent and holding her in my arms for a few hours was the therapy my tired body desperately needed.

Aurora was my medicine. She healed me.
The buzzing of my phone ignited my anger, causing me to groan loudly.
I had heard enough about the pack’s affairs. They could figure it out until I arrived tomorrow. Without bothering to check who it was, I ended the call and switched my phone off, tucking it into my pocket.
“My King…” Jasper’s words echoed in my mind, immediately interrupting my peace.
“Not another word!” I growled, my voice thick with menace.
Jasper wisely fell silent as I blocked the mind-link.
I had already overworked myself, and my mental health was suffering because of it.
Ignoring their requests wouldn’t kill them.
I didn’t care about what was happening; I needed these quiet moments with Aurora to refuel.
As quietly as a mouse, I slipped into the bed, lying beside her with her back facing my chest.
I inhaled her gentle, seductive scent from the back of her neck as my head sank into her hair.
It felt so good that I almost moaned.
I kept kissing her neck before peeling my shirt off, leaving my chest bare.
