Chapter 165:
“Leave that to me. I’ll sweet-talk the rest of the council members and those he listens to, convincing them that he needs a Luna. Meanwhile, in a few months, if he hasn’t found both a Luna and an heir, he will be dethroned. So, you have nothing to lose,” Silas reassured her, calming the turmoil in Rosa’s mind.
A faint smile played on her teary face as a glimmer of hope sparked in her heart.
“That was brilliant, Uncle. I appreciate your advice,” she said softly.
“You know this wouldn’t have happened if you had listened to me. I warned you about Aurora trying to take your place, but you turned a deaf ear.”
“I’m sorry, Uncle.”
“Well, all hope is not lost. Your position will be recovered, by force if necessary!” he declared with renewed determination.
Silence settled between them as they both pondered how to proceed with their new plan.
“So, when do I start? If I must find a lowlife, how do I get out of here with these heavy chains?”
Deafening laughter erupted from Silas, leaving Rosa puzzled.
She wondered what he was plotting now.
“You should trust me. I came prepared. I’m not just a council member for nothing. I’m one of the most respected figures, and I sometimes influence decision-making in this castle,” he boasted through his laughter.
“What did you do?” Rosa asked, her fear creeping in. She hoped he hadn’t killed the guards on duty to cover up his actions.
“Nothing much. Just a little bribe here and there. The guards excused us after giving me the keys to set you free. After the deed is done, you’ll return here, but I’ll keep an eye on you from a safe distance.”

“There’s no time. You need to find a lowlife and convince him to blackmail Aurora. Your time starts now!”
Rosa’s heart raced as she approached the shabby-looking man. He bowed briefly, a sloppy grin spreading across his face. “What do you want, Mistress?” he asked, gesturing toward a rickety chair. “It’s an honor having you here. Please, sit. Make yourself comfortable.”
Anger simmered within Rosa, but she had no choice. Time was slipping away, and she couldn’t afford to be picky. Reluctantly, she settled on Ray, the drunkard. The stench of alcohol and unwashed filth nearly made her gag, but she forced herself to endure it for the sake of her plan.
Doesn’t he know how to bathe? she thought, her eyes darting around the squalid room in disgust. How can anyone live like this?
Despite her revulsion, Rosa managed to flash a tight smile, clutching her purse tightly to her side. She avoided his gaze, trying to push away the discomfort of the situation. “I’d rather stand, thank you,” she said firmly, cutting through any attempt at pleasantries. Time was of the essence, and she couldn’t afford to waste a single moment.
Her mind was fixated on her goal: to have the Alpha King all to herself. She didn’t care what happened to him afterward, as long as her secrets remained safe and her plan succeeded.
Ray leaned back, his grin widening as his eyes lingered on her cleavage. “What brings you here?” he asked, his tone impatient but laced with a crude eagerness.
