Chapter 132:
“We didn’t,” I started.
“What happened?” she asked. “Why did she leave you?”
As much as I wanted to avoid the question, I couldn’t.
“She…” I took a deep breath, the tension in my chest growing as memories flooded my mind.
The painful memories I had tried so hard to lock away.
“She died,” I finally revealed.
Her jaw dropped, and pity washed over her face.
“I’m sorry,” she said, gently covering part of my hand with her small one.
“It’s okay. It’s in the past now,” I responded, brushing it off.
“Since her death, I vowed never to fall in love again or make love to any woman. I started doing BDSM instead. I couldn’t find any pleasure in regular lovemaking or vanilla sex.”
“What’s vanilla sex?” she asked, her curiosity genuine.
I almost laughed at her naivety.
“What we just had. It might seem boring to others, but it’s deep to me. I’m just confused because I want it with you again,” I paused, watching her expression shift to one of confusion.
“I even stopped having sex in the bed. No woman has ever slept in my matrimonial bed since Ivy died. I respected her too much.”
“How did she die?” she asked carefully, choosing her words with caution.
“It started when a war broke out. I hid Ivy, but somehow, she ended up leaving her hiding spot. Someone tricked her into believing that we were hurt and dying.

Before I could reach her, she drowned in the river, along with our pup.”
Tears threatened to spill from my eyes as the memory replayed in my mind.
“None of them survived. I saw her fall into the river. The fall was so brutal that she bled to death,” I said, my voice breaking.
I turned to look at Aurora, whose face was stained with tears.
“I haven’t forgiven myself since then. Maybe if I had stayed with her, she’d still be alive. I wouldn’t have needed her best friend, Rosa.”
“Rosa was her best friend?” Aurora’s face widened in shock.
“Yes, but it doesn’t matter. She is my mistress now, and the mother of my pup,” I paused to catch my breath.
“Sometimes, I feel guilty about being involved with Rosa. I feel like I’m betraying Ivy by being with her best friend. I hate myself for it.”
“You need to move on,” Aurora said softly, her hands cupping my jaw before gently resting on my shoulders.
“I can’t move on,” I replied, my voice heavy. “Maybe it’s just better this way. Maybe it’s my punishment for allowing her to die.”
Unknown POV
Rosa stood frozen, her heart pounding in her chest. Silas had called an impromptu meeting, and there was no doubt it was about her plans to eliminate Aurora and take over her position. She was going crazy. Why couldn’t he just let her work at her own pace? Not that she wasn’t putting in the effort, but he chose to ignore it.
