Despite my growing impatience, disbelief filled me as his words replayed in my mind. Was he really asking for my consent before having sex with me? Why was he suddenly so soft and considerate? This was suspicious.
Where was the ruthless, arrogant man I knew? If I was his property, why didn’t he just take what he wanted, like he had tried to do on the first day I arrived? What was going on with him?
