Chapter 109:
Before my brain could process what was about to happen, I felt the searing pain of lashes on my back. I sank my teeth into my lip, tilting my head back in an attempt to endure it, but the lashes kept coming.
I lost count as they took turns whipping my bloodied back. Exhausted from screaming, my head slumped to the side as I gasped for air.
The last thing I remembered was the relentless lashes before everything went black.

“You what?!” I growled, my voice reverberating throughout the room.
My eyes darkened with fury as I took several steps toward her, watching her almost collapse in fear.
This had to be a joke.
Or maybe my ears were deceiving me. There was no way she would dare lay a finger on my property.
“You’re joking, right?” A bitter laugh escaped my lips, but it quickly faded, replaced by scorn.
My blood boiled with anger as she shook her head, confirming my worst fears.
“How dare you lay your filthy hands on her?” I demanded, my tone sharp and authoritative.
As expected, there was no response. But beneath her eyes, there was a bitter expression. I didn’t care anymore. Rosa would always be a disgusting, vile woman to me.
It had been a privilege to have her in my bed.

She wasn’t worth it.
A pang of guilt flickered within me at the thought that she was the mother of my unborn child.
If only Ivy were still alive. I wouldn’t have to endure the shame of having impregnated someone like her.
“I’m sorry, my King. She was just being bad,” Rosa protested in a soft voice. But I wasn’t a fool. I wouldn’t let her melodious words deceive me.
Despite my absence, I knew Aurora was innocent. She would never act the way Rosa did.
Rosa was a shameless woman, consumed with jealousy that reeked from her every pore.
It was crazy how she could be so jealous of a man who didn’t care about her.
Rosa had never mattered to me, except for two reasons:
A hard fuck and my child.
I hated myself even more for promising to make her Luna immediately if she bore my child. Damn desperation!
“No,” I replied coldly, loosening my tie as anger began to choke me.
“No?” she asked, her brows furrowing in confusion. “You can ask anyone. I only asked her to get me the herbs and fruit juice I take every night for the well-being of myself and my child, but she yelled in my face, flinging the glass cup in my direction. If I hadn’t been quick enough to dodge it, it would have landed on my belly,” she explained.
