Chapter 381:
“I don’t care whether you speak well of me or not.”
Since Winnie was unfriendly to Alice, she wanted to express her own opinion.
“You are a member of my team. It’s my responsibility to visit you when you’re sick.” Then Alice turned to give Yanis a look and said, “Now things have been delivered. Let’s go.”
“Okay.” Yanis nodded and followed Alice out of the room.
Sean felt a little embarrassed, then followed them out of the room. He scratched his head and said, “Sorry, Winnie has an impulsive temper. She didn’t mean to offend you. She’s a nice girl.”
Hearing his words, Alice just looked at him blankly.
Sean seemed to be a simple and honest man. He was completely different from Winnie, who was vitriolic and acerbic. Judging by their personalities, they didn’t make a very good couple.
Sena had just been scolded by Winnie. But he didn’t get angry and even tried to put in a good word for her in front of Alice. He was infatuated with Winnie.
Yanis was not happy and said, “We don’t care if she is nice or not. And we are not her suitors like you.”
Sean felt embarrassed and just flashed them an awkward smile.
“I’m sorry. I apologize for her.”
“You don’t have to apologize for her. We want to go back now. Let her get a good rest.”
“All right, thank you.”
Yanis was annoyed. He followed Alice and said, “What an ungrateful woman she is. Her words were really annoying and harsh.”
“Let her be.” Alice shook her head and said calmly. She didn’t mind Winnie’s attitude toward her.
“I don’t understand why you come to visit her,” Yanis said and walked beside her.
At that moment, Kennedy was coming down the stairs with Annie. He was trailed by her. He gave a grim, cold look. Annie was her aunt. He could do nothing, but follow her down the stairs.
“Do we have to go there?”
At the sound of his cold voice, Annie turned and glared at him. She said, “Yes, we have to go there now. You promised me. What do you want to do now?”
Kennedy said nothing and took a deep breath. Then he gave a glance with his cold eyes.
However, the moment he looked up, he saw a familiar woman in front of him.
Then she quickly disappeared. He saw only her profile.
Kennedy was startled when he saw her figure. His expression changed and he instantly decided to catch up with her.
At that moment, he felt a tug on his sleeve. When he turned around, he saw Annie glaring angrily at him. She said, “What are you going to do? Kennedy, I’m serious about the meeting this afternoon. If you dare to…?”
“Let me go?”, Kennedy frowned and said coldly.
Annie thought he didn’t want to meet the girl he had invited and wanted to run away. Therefore, Annie dragged him away forcefully.
Kennedy had to get rid of her hand. He paused when he heard Annie exclaim.
Then he ran forward quickly.
Kennedy wanted to see if the woman was Charlotte.
‘Did Charlotte go back to B-town?’ she thought.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she didn’t see the familiar figure. He looked around, but did not see the woman again.
The people around him were surprised to see her action. They gave him a dubious glance. Kennedy stood still and lost in thought.
He had seen the woman’s familiar face twice in the past few days.
Had Charlotte returned to B-town, or was she hallucinating?
Annie said she was hallucinating. He thought she was right.
Because he had always been thinking about Charlotte, who had abandoned him for five years. He always dreamed of her and the feeling of missing her had been torturing his heart.
Annie finally caught up with him. When Kennedy suddenly came down the stairs, she ran quickly after him.
Seeing him standing there like a fool, she tugged his ear and scolded him, “Are you crazy? How dare you push me away? I almost fell to the ground.”
Kennedy said nothing. But he frowned slightly when he felt the pain in his ear.
He turned and his cold eyes rested on Annie’s face.
Annie sensed something was wrong with him. She narrowed her eyes and looked him up and down. Then she asked him, “What’s wrong with you? You look terrible.”
Kennedy had intended to say something. But he remembered what Annie had said earlier.
Finally he kept silent.
He didn’t speak again and headed for the door.
Annie followed him instantly.
“Where are you going? Kennedy, you’ve got to go and see the girl with me to-day. You promised.
She’s on her way to the cafeteria. Even if you don’t want to meet her, you have to go there with me.
She’s the daughter of one of my colleagues. I hear she’s gifted at playing the piano. She also studies piano. She’s an excellent girl, with a great background and a pretty face.”
Kennedy paused.
“You will accompany me. Don’t talk about her again.”
Annie smiled and replied, “Great.
…
The girl and her father were waiting in the cafeteria.
“Grace, I’ve been told that the man you’re going to meet today has a temper. But I think that’s reasonable. After all, he is the leader of the Moore Group.”
The girl’s name was Grace Lam. She went here with her mother, Melissa.
“Mom, it doesn’t matter if he has a temper. As long as he can control himself, I can accept it. I have a bad temper sometimes too. But I’m not going to lose my temper for no reason. We should judge people holistically.”
Hearing his words, Melissa nodded and said with satisfaction, “Okay. Since you’ve thought it through clearly, I’m relieved.”
“They’re coming this way.” Melissa looked up suddenly and said. Seeing Alice and Kennedy, she became very happy. Then she said, “It’s Annie.”
Grace glanced at her eyes.
She knew Annie, who was a colleague and good friend of her mother. She had met her several times.
Grace recognized Annie and at the same time saw Kennedy at her side.
He was tall and had a great figure. He followed Annie into the cafeteria with a cold expression. He seemed distant and aloof, which made him more attractive.
When Grace saw Kennedy, her heart began to beat rapidly. She stood still and asked, “Is that Annie’s nephew?”
Melissa nodded with a smile and said, “I guess so. Annie told me she’s bringing her nephew to meet us.”
