Alice said coolly and then glanced at the papers.
They continued the meeting. Rachel had been waiting in front of the door for over an hour. When the conference room door opened, Rachel turned to give them a nervous glance.
When she raised her head, she saw Hugo coming out of the conference room with an excited expression. He didn’t look at her and walked straight past her.
Rachel wanted to say something, but pressed down the impulse when she saw the expression on his face.
“Hugo, wait for me!” said Chloe and ran after him.
Ada, who came out after them, looked at the backs of the two and started to leave the floor. But Rachel stopped her by tugging on her sleeve.
“Ada, what’s up, what did you two talk about at the meeting, what took you so long?”
Ada was affable and gracious. She was silent on the matter, so Rachel opted to ask her about the situation.
Indeed, Ada was not angry and said quietly, “It’s a new venture. It is necessary to discuss more details of the business. It takes time to develop a new company. Rachel, I think we need to be patient with our new boss. Don’t be too hard on her.”
Then Rachel said unhappily, “I have not been hard on her. I didn’t do anything. As you can see, she made me leave as soon as I entered the meeting room. Should a boss do something like that to her subordinate?”
“But she informed you of the meeting – why didn’t you come in earlier?” Ada sighed and asked.
“I…” Rachel was speechless.
Ada patted her on the shoulder and said gently, “It’s your fault. You heard what Alice said that day. If you don’t want to stay here, you can leave the company. I think she’s right. People should do things from the heart.”
Then he smiled and walked away from her.
Hearing what he said, Rachel suddenly thought of something. He turned to look at her back and said coldly, “Do you want to drive away all the people around you? Is that the reason why you say these words to me? If we were to leave the company, you would excel in it – am I right?”
Hearing his words, Ada paused and turned around. She glanced at Rachel helplessly.
“If you think I have an ulterior motive, I can’t help it. I have work to do, so I’ll leave first.”
After Ada left, Rachel was very unhappy. Her words did not affect Ada at all. Ada just smiled and talked for the others. But Rachel thought Ada was hypocritical.
At that moment, Alice was still in the meeting room and sorting through her papers. Suddenly she noticed someone staring at her.
Alice pursed her lips and gave the man a look.
“What do you mean?” her voice was very cold.
Noah could see his indifferent attitude.
Noah shivered unconsciously and held his arms. He said, “Why are you so cold to me? Miss, would you like to have dinner with me tonight?” Alice frowned and glared at him.
Alice seemed very aggressive as she stared at Noah. He felt almost overwhelmed by her. He smiled helplessly and said, “It’s just dinner for my boss.”
“No, thank you.” Alice ducked her head and continued to glance at the papers. When she turned a page, Yanis said something to her. Then he nodded at her.
Noah was drawn to her as he watched the scene.
Then he felt it was a pity that Alice had become Zain’s girlfriend.
As Alice was treated kindly by Zain, she would not like a man like Noah.
Thinking about this, Noah said nothing and walked straight out of the meeting room.
After leaving, Yanis said, “Noah is still his playboy nature. How dare he chase his boss? He is a scoundrel. I heard he’s been chasing every pretty girl he meets. But I didn’t expect him to even want to date you.”
“Well, let it be,” Alice replied.
“Why did Zain invite such a shameless person into his company?”
“Zain…” Alice paused and then said, “He has his own ideas when it comes to selecting people. Even if he won’t hire Noah, there might be other people with unsavory personalities.
Anyway, no matter what kind of people we meet, we have to adapt to this situation.
You had a long day. Yanis, go back and rest.”
After hearing her words, Yanis shook his head and said, “No. Everyone has worked hard today. If I leave the company now, they will complain.”
They talked in the meeting room for a while. Then they got up and left together.
When they left the meeting room, they found Rachel waiting outside the room.
Rachel seemed to have something to tell them.
Yanis asked, “What’s wrong?”

Alice and Yanis did not answer her. Rachel said angrily, “You are really heartless. You don’t care about the situation. Winnie is sick. And you don’t care about her.”
Hearing her words, Alice said, “If she’s seriously ill, why are you staying here.
Didn’t you say that you and Sean have been taking care of her? Why are you waiting outside the meeting room?”

She bit her lips. In fact, she had no intention of taking care of Winnie. She didn’t care for Alice and didn’t want to attend the meeting.
